Improvement needed. I understand this is not a five star, major chain hotel, but it needs to have their basics covered. During checkout time, I had to dig in for cash to pay for laundry. They hire an outside service, and ask their guests to pay in cash on a separate bill, making it annoying if you don't have any cash. They would not take a credit card to pay for laundry, so I could not check out until I found cash. They should take credit a card payment for all services rendered.
Front door to my room was lose, and very difficult to lock from the inside. After trying for a couple minutes, I just simply gave up and went to sleep with an open door during all my stay. You can however, lock it from the outside. I did not report it because I would not spend any time inside, and did not want a maintenance crew or person to walk into the room without adequate security.
Room safe is old and did not work electronically, but because I was given a key to operate it, I figured it would open and close with it, but not the case, bottom line I had to walk around with all my belongings, cash, passport, etc.
Two people for one room, at least at the one I was in, is too many, if you want space to move around, you need to ask for a larger room. Room is so small you can hardly walk yourself, let alone with one more person with you. If you’re claustrophobic, don’t do it, if you’re a honeymooner, find a bigger place where you will have privacy.
It is located a block or two from a cathedral, close to the town square, but did not figure out why their name, but when I went inside, then noticed lots of statues of saints, etc, crosses, hence the name. You really feel you are inside a cathedral. If you don’t mind having breakfast surrounded by all sorts of religious statues that seem to be looking at you, then this is your place.
Breakfast starts at 7:00 AM. If you don’t mind waiting until then, there’s no problem, but if you are an early riser, then you will have issues. There are other places around town that open at 6:00 am.
Shower curtain kept falling, not a big deal, but it becomes one, when you have to pick it up more than once during a shower. It is obvious there is a lack of proper, constant maintenance.
Price does not go along with their services. Too much for what you get.
During my absence, room was not cleaned, they just made the bed, trash was still in the bin, toiletries were not renewed, had to use the same soap for three days.
I left a day early to get a room in Guatemala City. Did not make the least effort to get my money back as I had paid in advance. Been there, done that. I made the mistake of buying through a travel website, and once you do that, you pretty much will not get it back.
I would not stay again or recommend.
