I have to confess i had never eaten at this restaurant until a month ago after living here for almost 2 years. When i passed by the dining area was always full and crowded. My friend took me to eat there and i told him the same thing. He laughed and explained we would eat upstairs. I had no idea there was an upstairs. What an incredible way to end the day. The view upstairs is next to a church ruin which is breathtaking and the view from the terrace in incredible as you see the volcanoes. The food and atmosphere was so cordial and relaxing and the wait staff went above and beyond to make sure your experience was nothing short of heaven. They are located on 4th street just a short juant from the central park

Tip: It's easy to do a 1 day trip from Guatemala City to Antigua. We took an ordinary bus in the city (more or less 1h30). It's cheap, safe and a good experience. I recommend the Barcelo Hotel (check my review and pics).

Cons: VERY slow and disorganized service (but nice staff), pricey.

Pros: (International) tasty food, great view.

If you are not in an hurry or in a tight budget this is a great place to enjoy international tasty food. And if you want to run away from the noise and bustling of the town this place has a quite terrace overlooking the cathedral. A small oasis in Antigua.

We had: panini, soup and apple pie. Everything was delicious.

Climbing the narrow stairs to arrive to arrive to a great terrace is very worthwhile. The view is great. The for is good but not as good as many Restaurants we went to Antigua.
This being send, I would go again because of the view on the terrace,

Go up to the balcony for great food and a lovely view. I really loved the arugula salad. The wine list is extensively packed with high quality french selections.

I've been to Tartines several times before. This time, the food was average and the service, very poor. With so many wonderful restaurants to choose from, the owner needs to vamp up the service to at least friendly.
