Owner description: We offer a variety of cultural, adventure and ecotourism tour packages in Guatemala with exciting itineraries designed for individual visitors, small and large groups. Due to our many years of experience in the travel industry, we offer competitive prices with no compromise on quality. We are highly recommended by our customers on Trip Advisor an award that recognizes the quality of our services and hard work and dedication of our team. In 2016, we decided to change our company name to Voltan Adventures. Voltan is the Mayan God of the Earth NOT to be confused with Votan (the Mayan God of War). Over the years our company has developed a stellar reputation as one of the best tour operators within Guatemala. Because our base of operations is at Lake Atitlan and our former company name was Tours Atitlan some people would confuse our company with a competitor whose name is similar. We noticed a trend. Numerous tour operators were incorporating the lake into their company name and this was leading to much confusion. Because our company is Mayan owned and locally operated we decided it would be best to embrace our culture and take a more distinctive name where there can be no confusion. So welcome to Voltan Adventures. To read about our company’s past reviews please see our customers Trip Advisor reviews under our old company name: Tours Atitlan, and after your trip with us, please post a review under our new name so we can begin a new tradition!

Isaias Soliz is a lovely guide. I was with a small group of friends who are avid birders and Isaias charmed and wowed us with a bird packed 4 hours. Native species were found, framed for pictures, habitats for the migrating birds too were his specialty. Excellent English speaker, calm manner, good pace. We had a lovely time.

I found out about Tours Atitlan just a few days before our scheduled trip to Guatemala and contacted Pedro with a ton of questions about day trips and tours near Lake Atitlan. he was very responsive and offered a range of activities to suit our interests. We booked two trips with the company and we were completely satisfied with every detail, from the moment we were met by our guides, their local knowledge, friendliness, to the last goodbye. I recommend Tours Atitlan without reservation and I'll definitely book with them again.

My good friend and I visited Lake Atitlan in front of a mission construction trip we were meeting up with. I contacted Tours Adventure Atitlan to assist us with all of our logistics (transportation, hotel, and tours). They did not let us down on any of these services! In fact, they were above and beyond on all. From the start the driver at the airport was there to greet us and to take us to our hotel, which was located near the airport in Guatemala City. The hotel there was in a safe location, was like a B&B with a lovely breakfast and a nice room. A driver than transported us to Lake Atitlan. He was on time, safe, friendly, and knowledgeable. He took us to meet our guide, Dina, who we would spend the next two days with. We really enjoyed Dina and learned so much from her! She took us on hikes on the Mayan highland trail, to the Sololá Market, on a boat tour visiting villages (San Juan La Laguna was our favorite) We were introduced to people who shared their talents (weaving, painting, coffee making, medicinal herbs, clothing, etc). She showed us great view areas of the lake, and shared cultural information. It is a lot to take in and learn, and so very interesting. We stayed at the Arca de Noe in Santa Cruz La Laguna. The accommodations are slightly rustic, but we knew this on booking and were very happy there. The view cannot be beat! We enjoyed sitting on our porch overlooking the lake and taking in the scenery. Very rewarding. We were later comfortably transported to Antigua where we would meet up with our team. I will definitely use their services again, they did a fantastic job on all elements of our trip!

Isaias only get better and better. He is so connected with the culture of the villages along the lake and his ability to gauge the particular needs of a group are finely tuned. Our entire group of 15 writers loved him.

for the birding, he was able to help us find 17 different varieties of birds in less than 2 hours, and so close to where we were staying at Villa Samaya. He has been studying ornithology at Cornell.

We had a great morning with Isaias birding around Lake Atitlan. We had already spent a few days there on our own, but he was quick and we were able to add even more new birds to our list. Excellent guide. Prepared. Bilingual. Fun!
