I thought that choosing a place for a late afternoon drink would be easy, but Antigua has a vast array of good choices. Cafe Sky caught my eye in a guidebook because it offered a view. And a view it is! Visit this place for just that - an amazing panoramic view of the city, mountains, and volcanoes. I suggest going in the late afternoon or early evening before sunset (depending on your season) when that lovely hue of light and angle of the sun makes everything come into beautiful focus. My review is only "very good" because it is only a pretty basic bar. Not a problem, just noting that you come here primarily for the view. They have a full menu, too, but I haven't tried it.
~ View - panoramic, unobstructed, and spectacular. Bring your camera.
~ Friendly expats and tourists to meet, but locals visit it too.
~ Friendly and attentive service. They really do try hard, so be sure to give them some love.
~ Pretty basic bar
~ A bit pricier, but worth it for the view.
Well, having mentioned the spectacular view, I can't repeat it. Another treat: The tight spiral metal staircase to get you to the roof is fun because it let's you know you are going somewhere special...
