Dominick runs the place with his beautiful, belly dancing girlfriend/wife. the rooms were shared with 3-5 other beds, but not always full. It only cost $5-10 USD and offers a great fresh breakfast from a full menu. They will even package it up for you to take, in case you have early day plans like taking a tour of the volcanos near-by. For the price, you couldn't ask for better!! but this is more of a "traveler's" type of hostel.

Room Tip: 3rd floor is best... but wi-fi is better on the first floor.

I went to Guatemala to install solar panels and help contruct a bajaréké wall. Our first few and last few nights were in Antigua and I was extremely happy to stay here.

Location: so close to the center plaza as well as the markets. Perfect location; very well lit and there is a 24 hour security. There is a staircase that leads to the roof where you have a nice view of a volcano. Great place to have breakfast

Food: Always go for the smoothies. They were phenomenal. I would try all different types of dishes they have to offer.

Service: They were very helpful and attentive. Whenever we had questions or needed something, they were quick to give or find us the answers. They can set up shuttles and tours of the Antigua or other cities nearby or even to the airport.

They have one desktop computer near the front that anyone can use, however the internet is a little slow. But it enables you to get business done if you do not have a computer. If you do, they have wifi, which i was able to use with no problems or delays.

Room Tip: Choose rooms further away from the front; they are quieter and away from the hostel style bedrooms...

The staff here are very nice and helpful. Guadalope (sp?) at the front desk was super nice and helped us book tours and a shuttle. We really felt at home here. We loved the breakfasts, especially the burrito. I highly recommend the Black Cat Inn.

We had to stay here because the aprty hostal, Black Cat was full. This place is definately very quiet and not as happening as the hostal. The rooms are ok, but you can hear all the noise from the street traffic. It is also pricy for what you get. It is a little bit old and they charge quite a bit to stay there. they do offer a delicious breakfast with the cost of room. But you can also get that in teh hostal for a fraction of price. EX: A room here maybe $20 pp, a shared room, $10 pp. At the hostal, a shared room is $5 with breakfast as well. The beds are not the greatest either.

It has certainly had better days.
I have two friends who stayed at this place some year ago and they loved it.
I was very disappointed, though. The dorm room is very messy, and has different kinds of beds, some ok and some horrible. There was always something wrong, no lights, no water, flush didn't work.  And they charge extra for everything. If you want to leave your bag, if you need a towel and if you buy tickets or tours there you are going to pay a lot more than in a travel agency.
The private rooms are a rip off! There are much better rooms for much less!
The breakfast, however, is quite good and big. You can choose from a menu and as the prices in the menu are quite high if you are staying in the dorm you can almost feel like it's a good deal.

If you are looking for a party hostel then don't stay here. If you want a chilled out vibe, private room and a fantastic breakfast included then this is your place!

Met lots of nice travelers here, rooftop area has amazing views, rooms were average but pretty spacious and the highlight was breakfast. Best I have had at any hostel during my travels to date.

Had a slight issue on first night when they said they didn't have my booking so had to stay in the dorm (which was fine if you get a wooden bed). Moved into private room following day and will return for another couple of days later in my trip.

Location was ideal, just 1 and a half blocks from Park Central and many restaurants and bars.

Room Tip: Rooms towards the back are quieter.

Stayed here for 4 nights on my way out of Guatemala and had a fantastic time. The atmos is more chilled than its sister Hostel but the bar area and terrace are great for meetups and pre-outing drinks. The dorm is fairly average but comfy and is split over two rooms so you're not constantly waking up.

The best bit by far though was the staff, who were by far the friendliest I met in Guatemala. Guadalupe and the team were so happy to help and to chat it really did make me feel at home.
