“Go early, they sell out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 6, 2013

We rented a house on Nantucket and went to Sayle's twice for fish to take home and cook ourselves. The first time, we went at about 3 and there was not much local fish left to choose from. The second time, we went right at opening and had our pick. The swordfish was the best I've ever had anywhere and I also recommend the smoked bluefish spread, which they are known for. Scallops were also fresh and good. My only very minor suggestion is to put in a bike rack, please!

“Good Enough”

So fried is always good, right?
What else can I say?
Personally, I can't figure out what all the hype is about.

“Great seafood in the rough”

Really good price for a couple lobsters and lots of sides. Picked them up by bike and took them back to our cottage for a great lobster dinner!

“Perfect lunch place”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 29, 2013

A little off the beaten path, but worth the walk. At the far end of Washington Street, Sayles is a bit of a walk from Main Street. But, if you make the trip, you will be rewarded with fresh, tasty seafood at a very reasonable price by Nantucket standards. We ordered the "Huge Seafood Platter" and it lived up to its name. It was laded with shrimp, scallops, whole belly clams, scrod, mussels and french fries, all cooked to perfection. It was enough for 2 of us.

We also added a small calamari which was lightly battered and delicious.

There are only 3 or 4 tables on an outside deck but if you get there early you should be ok.

“Fresh fish!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 23, 2013

We bought sword fish, and sea scallops to grill as well as some clam chowder base to doctor up (as in add bacon). Everything was fresh and delicious!! I think we are going to buy more fish to cook before we leave :)
