We love this restaurant, both for lunch and dinner. If you want to go for dinner, be sure to go at a time when you can catch the sunset. Service is professional, food is delicious and spot on.
View can't be beat.

Had a fantastic lunch yesterday! The service was amazing (thank you Ishmael!) and the food was divine (especially the desserts). The wine selected for us by Frank was perfect! Such a wonderful view too (loved watching the storm over the ocean). I will definitely return.

Nicely cooked lamb, fluke, lobster, but what I liked was the attentive staff and the super wine list. In general I was impressed by the Nantucket restaurants' wine selections..heavy on California and France but a gem here and there. I don't know why Oregon Pinot's and Pinot Gris are ignored..opportunity there for Chehalem and the crew. We spent several hours tasting by the glass..a flight of three '11 Sancerre's, an '09 Chassagne Montrachet, '05 Volnay, "05 Pomerol, and wrapped up by a 2009 Quilceda Creek from the Colombia Valley in Washington confirmed in my little mind that Washington State is producing the best affordable Cabernet & Bordeau blends. Great location and comfortable ... why wouldn't you stay for 3 hours?? Well it did cost a small fortune - wines are 20% overpriced but the beach view justifies it.

We decided to try the Galley Beach during Restaurant Week. The server and wine stewart were very friendly and helpful in selecting a wine, we ordered and then sat . . . After quite awhile our artichoke heart salads arrived with no artichoke hearts. When we said something the server said she would let the manager know. Then we waited again, finally we asked about the main course and we then checked the time, it was still another 20 minutes. The restaurant was not crowded and we were starving when the food arrived. My duck was delicious but cold, my friends enjoyed their steak and lamb. We asked for desert right away as it was 10:30 and we were the only people left in the restaurant. I took mine to go. We really wanted to love it, the sunset was amazing, but we left feeling that they really didn't care how we felt about our meals. No one was in the restaurant when we left or in the front to greet us on the way out.

Our food was excellent and the service impeccable. It was our last night on Nantucket and it was memorable. The sunset was stunning and our server encouraged us to stay til the sun set even though we were finished with our meal. We would definitely eat here again if we visit Nantucket again. (A must is the Painkiller from the bar menu. I must try to replicate this at home)
