We had a great dinner for three outside on the deck on a Friday night in mid-September. Halibut, specially requested vegetarian pasta, and pasta with bolognese sauce were excellent.

My wife is not a seafood lover, so while in Nantucket it was a challenge to find a nice place with more than one beef and one chicken entree. Queequig's filled the bill with and number of non-fishy entrees. Both the service and food were outstanding. Our favorite meal on Nantucket.

My husband and I dined at Queequeg's this past Wednesday evening on their lovely patio. The waitress was very pleasant and I ordered the dinner special of scallops for $27. My husband ordered another fish entree. I did not think to ask how many scallops would be in my entree. When the entree arrived is consisted of 2, yes 2 scallops for $27!!! The 2 scallops were tasty, but maybe for an appetizer at lower price. We questioned the waitress if it was an appetizer or the price incorrect, and she said the owner had determined the price of the scallop dinner. She did offer a dinner salad at no charge, which was very nice. But I would not return to this restaurant for fear of the pricing.

Indoor & outside dining. Tried to go for dinner last night, no availability, so we made sure we could go tonight. Glad we did. The butter lettuce salad was great, not only red, but also yellow sun-dried tomatoes with a light champagne dressing. A couple of entrees come as 1/2 portions, but I asked if tonight's special, a shrimp & chicken curry could be done as a 1/2, and yes, it could. It was great and husband had the 1/2 order of short ribs, which were excellent. Oh, and the chocolate cheesecake..... Aaaahhh. Great service, nice decor and nice terrace to eat outside.

We had a reservation for dinner and when we arrived were told that we would have to wait as the empty tables were for someone elses reservation. No apology, no reassurance everything would be taken care of. After 10 minutes of standing on the sidewalk, we noticed that at the table they said would be ours, they couple had just poured the last half of their bottle of wine for themselves. They were having a lovely evening, as they should have. Frustrated, we told the Hostess that we were disappointed with the situation, standing while we looked at empty tables she sneered and said you don't know what its like, have you ever worked in a restaurant? So after 15 minutes of waiting we left. We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and enjoyed it alot. It's ashame that a nasty Hostess early in the evening can change one's opinion.
