“Excellent food, warm service, great value.”
Reviewed September 7, 2013

Warm, friendly, reasonably priced French bistro. Upstairs dining is quieter, if you want a low key conversation. The champignons and pommeray mustard were a perfect compliment to the cod. The garlic fries with the steak frites were not merely sprinkled with garlic salt, as you would expect, but infused with garlic, as though they had been fried in garlic oil. Addictive. They offer half plates on some items, so there is something for everyone here. Highly recommend.

“Good Reason to be one of Nantucket's Favorites”
Reviewed September 5, 2013

To be fair we are truly regulars at the Languedoc, and that alone should say as much about this warm and cozy restaurant than is required in a Trip Advisor minimum review (100 characters). If the questions is where to go to eat to night the Languedoc is always at the top of the list, and we certainly eat here more often than any other Nantucket Restaurant. Interestingly, it is not only about the cuisine. In fact, and Alan don't shoot us, there may be restaurants with better cuisine, but the combinations of an imaginative and varied menu that offers distinct price point opportunities (half portions), excellent preparation, friendly service, a good and reasonably priced wine list (and not to mention really well chosen wines by the glass) and a warm ambience makes it our favorite.

If you can get there early you might get a table at the downstairs bistro that offers a more limited menu (including the best cheeseburger on the island) and a truly cozy atmosphere. You can eat at the small bar and have a chance to catch up on local happenings with your bar mates. Upstairs offers more formal dining in a series of rooms.

Aside from the cheeseburger, the steak frites are off the chart (get the bernaise on the side) both the chopped salad and the limestone lettuce salad are wonderful, people rave about the lobster, I'm a big fan of the sweetbreads, and there is always a choice of wonderfully fresh fish beautifully prepared.

Manager/owner Alan DeCuhna has run this popular restaurant for a long time and he is a real pro and a great host who clearly knows how to hire and manage an efficient, attentive staff.

If you are in Nantucket go.

“LL lovely”
Reviewed August 31, 2013

Fantastique meal on the patio at LL! After the delicious bread and a wonderful bottle of wine, three of us shared two starters -- the salad special that included whipped mozarella, heirloom tomatoes, seared peaches, and greens, and then the cheese souffle -- both were really lovely, and the souufle was a rare treat. Our entrees were equally special -- grilled lobster, and steak frites, both done very well. The service was very friendly and attentive, and we chatted with the chef about his experiences living on Nantucket. Overall the evening was so nice and a memorable experience.

“Excellent food & service”
Reviewed August 26, 2013

We have visited Le Languedoc every year we have stayed in Nantucket. They have a wonderful selection of wines by the glass as well as the bottle featuring fine French wines. Our waitresses have been friendly, knowledgeable and efficient. All our meals have lived up to the"Nantucket standard" but NOT at some of the "usual very prices" at the majority of fine restaurants in Nantucket.
Our best remembered meals included their lobster dinner, cheese souffle, lobster bisque & the NY strip frites. My wife was very satisfied ordering their half-plates which cost approximately half the price of the regular dinner. LL with its incredible service, outstanding food, classy decor & quiet coziness puts it on top of the Nantucket dinner experience.
