Description: Dune, new to Nantucket in 2009, is a creation of Michael Getter, formerly of 21 Federal and American Seasons restaurants. The décor in our three distinct dining rooms is a blend of sophisticated elegance and soothing comfort. Along with our exotic quartzite bar and charming patio we offer an extensive selection of handcrafted cocktails, wines, spirits and cordials along with offering full lunch, dinner and dessert menus. The ever changing menu showcases an innovative selection of the finest in seasonal local produce, fish and meats from regional farms and select purveyors. During the summer season we serve lunch and dinner daily. Bar opens at 5:00pm every day.

This is my second time eating at dune this summer and I went there 2 other times the past 2 summers. The food and service are getting better and better every time. The apps are great and the main courses are fantastic. I had the fish with dirty rice and veges and it was so good I did not want to finish it. We also ate the tuna which was really tasty too.

The food was ok and our waiter was nice and attentive. I didn't like walking upstairs to sit in a small room where you could hear everyone's conversations. The layout is just awkward.

We stumbled into this restaurant for lunch. Have you ever felt really lucky to find a gem of a restaurant when you were not expecting it? Anyway, for the same price, or even less than diner-style places in town charge for their rather mundane versions, we had just amazing lobster rolls. The chef here is ex-21 Federal (back when it was the best place in Nantucket) and the kitchen operates at a very high level, even for lunch. What a bargain. I will add that the service was exceptionally gracious and made us feel valued.

Chicken was delicious but very small, I left hungry. Fish portion was better. Overall food good, but very expensive... small portions.

We have a meeting of retina specialists on Nantucket each year and the final night have a dinner at one of the finest restaurants on the island. The Dune didn't live up to our expectations. The staff split our group throughout the restaurant rather than keeping us together on the second floor, hurried us through to get more people in, and provided mediocre, at best, food. Go elsewhere. There are much better restaurants all around.
