This new place is clearly suited for the yacht and private jet crowd. Beautiful setting on the wharf. $5 per shrimp. $4 per oyster. Wine list with all of 4 bottles under 50. A nice Talbott pinot that's $20 at the local wine shop is $62 here. Entrees can exceed $40. BUT, the amazing thing is that the food is terrific. Our group of 3 had sword, sea scallops and double appetizer, the latter two being a piece of striped bass in a tomato sauce and a duck confit salad. All delicious; and the two appetizers were generous portions.

This restaurant was redone going into the 2012 season, and they did a fantastic job within the original framework. The menu for lunch or dinner is fantastic (having had to make a return after such a great lunch). The back bar location is a great spot for a nice day-time scene on the docks with a cocktail in a hand. Try the soft-shell crab sandwich at lunchtime!

Cru is still working out the kinks but it is the hot restaurant this summer in Nantucket. The new interior and view are fabulous. Oysters and drinks are the feature. Our dinners were ok... Nothing outstanding but good. We had bread plates and olive oil in the table but there was no bread available. Service was good. Prices are expensive but you are paying for a view.
Go for drinks, oysters and a lobster salad riroll....if you can't get in for dinner, lunch will suffice. There are other options on the island for true foodies.

Three of us recently had lunch at the new Cru Restaurant. It was not busy on a beautiful day. We were seated in the first room. The interior design is very nice and looks very expensive. The lunch prices were exorbitant -- the lobster roll at $28 ($10 higher than anywhere else) was sadly, not very good. It had some kind of off taste/herb in it. The softshell crab BLT was good, but it was a very small crab and not worth the $22 price. The sandwiches came with a large serving of fries. A glass of wine was $12-$14. Three sandwiches, two beers, one wine was over $100. Pretty place, great location, too bad it's over the top expensive and not great food. Wish it was still the Ropewalk.
