Owner description: Who are we? We are just about the coolest place on planet Earth. Having never personally traveled to other parts of the galaxy, we can't quite say "in all the Milky Way" but we're pretty confident that we would make the top 10. Here on Nantucket we have a Winery, Brewery, and Distillery. Nantucket Vineyard was the first arm of our business opening in the early 1980's as a small project of the Long Family. After a few years, Winery employees ended up falling in love with the wine and each other, and voila! - Cisco Brewers was born on the Hudson's stovetop in 1995. Whispers of a brewery floated on the Nantucket wind, catching the ear of a few people, including a Mr. Harman. Using the previously tested and proven formula of starting a business from another business, Winery and Brewery employees enjoyed a few glasses / pints (respectively) together and hatched the idea for Triple Eight Distillery in 2000. All three businesses are constantly evolving, and we now produce a wide variety of world-class wines, beers, and spirits. Come out and enjoy our Nantucket haven- just prepare yourself in case your mind blows up from all the awesomeness. Open everyday year-round, dog and kid friendly!

I LOVE Cisco beer! The brewery/distillery/vineyard is set up like a tiny little village with wooden tables, chairs and benches all throughout. There are three buildings- each representing your drink genre of choice. I am a beer drinker and a huge fan of Cisco. The Whale's Tale and Sankaty light are my favorite. I did manage to sneak a taste of their Bloody Mary as well, and WHOA....it's awesome.
There is also a tent area that houses a live band, so there's music playing pretty much all the time, and the mood is totally casual and laid back....not pretentious or snooty in any way. You could easily spend a half a day here, so plan accordingly! Can't wait to visit again!
I've listed a "few things to know before you go" below:

1. If you can, ride a bike to get there! It is an easy ride, and even easier to park.
2. There are a few (cute and entertaining) dogs that run around freely, but they are no bother at all.
3. There is a Nantucket Pasty cart that serves delicious pasties (the steak and ale one is to DIE for), but that is the only food available. Bring your own snacks! (They allow this.)
4. They do NOT do sampling during peak hours.
5. It can get very crowded, but everyone is super nice. Don't be surprised if you cant find a seat right away.
6. Buy a souvenir and support local beer!

Cheers!

We rode our bikes out to Cisco Beach and stopped by Cisco Brewery on the way back into town. We knew it was going to be a great decision when we saw the Millie's food truck upon locking up our bikes. After getting some delicious tacos, we headed to the outdoor seating area (much of which is under a tent or in the shade). There is now plenty of outdoor seating where you can relax with the brewery's famed blueberry vodka/lemonade drink while listening to some excellent live music. The cranberry vodka is equally good. They have wine too if that's your preference.

First of all, do NOT do the "tour." At 4pm a small group of people congregate around the entry point of a large backyard. At the start of the tour, you take 15 paces to a folding on which there iis a small box of shot glasses, and a guy in landscaping clothes points to the box and tells everybody to take one glass. he comes out with about 4 moonshine bottles filled with beer and passes them to volunteers, asking each one to pour the beer out to anyone in the group who wants some. we then enter the garage, surrounded by 4 fermenting tanks; it is here he talks for about 30 minutes about making beer. Then we walk 20 yards to another garage, where they keep barrels of wine and booze, and he talks for about 30 minutes. If you want more beer in your shot glass you have to find a volunteer. (Now, the volunteers have absolutely no idea of what kind of beer they have)

That's the tour. For $20 per head. There is no wine sampling, but you're more than welcome to buy yourself a glass.

Afterwards, you can join the fraternity party out in the back, if that's your cup of ale. They've been out there drinking all day, so they're primed to have you on board.

Toga!

Thank you for your review about the tour. Your comments along with other feedback we have received this summer regarding the tour have been very helpful in bringing to light some changes that need to be made to our tasting and tour programs. In the past we did not have issues with tours becoming too crowded, but it is evident that the volume of people coming to our brewery, specifically for the tours, has grown beyond what we can handle with our current tour set-up. I encourage you to give us a second chance and take the tour again next time you are on island. If you could, please email me ahead of time (Kristen@ciscobrewers.com) so we can comp your tour and hopefully it will be a much more enjoyable experience. Again thanks for your review and we look forward to seeing you again :)

We biked here during our day trip to Nantucket...very cool little spot. They had live music and a food truck from Millies out front..which was very good. You have your choice of beer, wine, or liquor so there is something for everyone! My husband is a beer conisour and he didn't love their beer but he did love the location and we are both glad we went while on the island!
