Perfect location, amazing sunsets, spot on service.and well appointed rooms. Only very minor criticism is the fitness room which is on the Spartan side. It's pricey but delivers value even at these astronomical summer prices.

Thank you so much for your review. I am happy to hear that you had a wonderful stay. Yes, summer pricing island wide is high, as we are in our peak time. We do, however, have our Hot Dates Cool Rates on our website, and even during the summer, there are a few dates here and there that are less than others. Certainly Spring and Fall are where the values are.

Our location and services have a great reputation and we are pleased that you enjoyed everything. While our gym is small, the island itself provides seemingly endless bike trails and we have recently printed a nice jogging map for the outdoor enthusiast that takes you though some of the prettiest residential neighborhoods nearby.

See you again soon!

Sincerley,

This could've been a really nice stay but because of the poor room location we were disappointed.

There are two halves to this hotel, the eastern half which is quieter and looks over the harbor, and the western half which has the outdoor restaurant, is louder and overlooks the public boat ramp.

We booked a Harbor View Suite, their highest rate, because we wanted to be on the quieter eastern half. It turns out there is one Harbor View Suite (room 250) on the western half and that's the room we got. The windows and deck face the restaurant. You can technically see the harbor but what you're really looking at is the public boat ramp. It was 3pm (at checkin time) and we asked to change but even though everyone hadn't checked in yet they said they couldn't switch because the other rooms had all been assigned to other people.

The people were friendly and the service was very good but we won't be coming back or recommend it to others. They should re-label the room we stayed in to a different category.

Room Tip: ask to stay in the east half away from the restaurant

Dear Boston Denver;

Thank you for posting your review. I am so sorry to hear that you did not like suite 250, but very happy to hear that you enjoyed the rest of your stay. We have 12 Harborview Suites in total and they are all a little unique. While 250 is on the side of the building, it is larger than most of the other suites and has a much bigger deck than most as well. That being said, I personally spend a lot of time each and every day reading arriving guest requests and trying our best to match the guest with the proper accommodation and we do overall have a nice success in doing so.

Regardless of all this, I am not in the business of disappointing our guests, so I would be happy to talk further privately: 508 638 3418

I love this hotel. We had such a great experience staying here. Even before we arrived, the hotel concierge called us a week early to check if we would like to arrange for anything while we're on this island. We arranged for complimentary pick up service at the ferry and they came right on time to pick us up. The hotel itself is walking distance from the town and it's tucked away in a quieter street. The staffs are super friendly and very helpful. When we checked in, they told us that our room is not ready but they would call us when they are but they guarantee check in by 3PM. We ended up going to the hotel restaurant, Brant Point Grill, for lunch and it was excellent. When we're done it was 3PM anyway so we went to get our room keys from the front desk and headed to our room which is not in the main hotel itself. It's a small little cottage near the main hotel. The room is cute. It has a small living room and a separate bedroom. It's clean and you can tell it's well maintained. The bed and linens are also very comfortable. We had a baby with us and they provided us with cribs, some diapers, and a little elephant stuffed animal. At night, they also provided us with car service to go to restaurants that are a little further away and they also picked us up at the restaurants when we're done which was great. On Saturday afternoon, we went to Lola burger which is on the other side of town and after we had our lunch, it started to rain. After waiting for 10 mins, we decided that it wasn't going to light up so we called the hotel to come and pick us up and they sent the courtesy car right over which I was very happy about. Everywhere we go, we were greeted with friendly staffs. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay here and we're already looking into coming back here next year.

Dear Vivi L;

Thank you for your review. I find that the cottages are perfect for families. The one and three bedroom cottages are original buildings so they each have their unique character. They are bright and cheerful with hard wood floors and amazing beds. The two bedroom cottages are a bit closer in style to the main hotel, with carpet and the same decor as you would find in the main building, as they are newer construction. Having kids myself, I can completely relate to proper kid's amenities and a space layout that works without shared walls (for the smallest travellers) with other guests. The courtesy car is a nice addition to our fleet. We are very lucky to have a wonderful relationship with BMW.

We hope to see you and your family again soon and thank you again!

Sincerely,

Bettina Landt

My 8 year old son and I had an amazing Nantucket experience staying in this charming hotel. The staff at the White Elephant couldn't have been more helpful or welcoming. The rooms are spacious and luxurious. My son got a total kick out of the bed that was very high off the ground and so comfortable. I particularly enjoyed drinking the complimentary coffee in the wicker rocking chair outside my room while taking in the spectacular harbour views. Old school charm at its finest, We will be returning.

Room Tip: Room with harbour views

Dear Rachel W;

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. I am glad you and your son had a wonderful time. Yes, those beds are something! Our Pratesi sheets are wonderful, but the height of the bed is what really stands out. Fun.

See you again soon!

Spent a lovely night at The White Elephant in one of their one-bedroom cottages. The location is wonderful, near enough to the center of town that we could walk there, but not so near that we were caught in the congestion of the town. We did not have an ocean/marina view, but did not need one - the cottages are set in a little area off on their own, very private and very quiet. Beautifully and simply decorated, open and airy with lots of nice, little touches of hospitality.
The staff was warm, courteous, and helpful - Neil, at the front desk was very patient and kind helping us make movie decisions! (The front desk has a wonderful selection of DVDs that we could us on the DVD player in our room).
The restaurant is open to the water, relaxing, and again - a wonderful staff.

We spent 5 nights here and thoroughly enjoyed the hotel. The room was facing out towards the marina with a spacious deck, separate lounge area and large bedroom. Beds were very comfortable. The bathroom had a shower over the bath and was quite small. The staff were always very helpful. Conveniently located, just a short stroll the restaurants and shops. Laundry is very reasonably priced, about $20.00 for a large bag. No tea and coffee making facilities in the room, but room service was reasonably priced. Recommend you go to the Oyster Bar on the wharf. We also hired bikes and cycled to the other side of the island.

Room Tip: Ask for a room facing the marina but not over the bar area.

Dear Stoneyridge;

Thank you for your review. It is nice to see that you were able to get away for 5 nights! The rooms facing the harbor are amazing. We are very lucky with our location here on the water. Even if you are not able to book a harborview room, please know that we have those amazing lounge chairs facing that spectacular view that are for all of our guests to use.

Come again and let me know when you do.
