We checked into the 7 Gables as a last resort - and were very plesantly surprised. We had already been on-island for a week and half visiting family and wanted a day to ourselves. The people were incredibly friendly and accomodating and the rooms were cozy but with plenty of room for us and our bags. There was no problem leaving our bags there for the day while we went to the beach, even though we had already checked out. There was a breakfast in the morning - we could smell the bacon and pancakes - but we were too comfy in bed to make it downstairs. The $100 we paid, for a queen bed and a private bath during high-season, was truely a bargain!
I don't know if this would be my first choice of a place to stay but I would not be dissapointed if it were our second option. My biggest complaint is that we wanted to be a little closer to town. It is about 10 minute walk which seems a lot longer when dressed for dinner. Enjoy this charming inn and all it has to offer.
