Sally Beck, the Innkeeper, was such a joy to talk with and extremely helpful. Our room was nicely decorated, clean & cozy. The location is quiet with a short walk to restaurants and shopping. It's also an easy walk from the Hyannis Ferry. Breakfast was delicious and satisfying. We will definitely be back!

We just got back from a stay at the Cliff Lodge, our first visit there after having visited a couple other places in a similar price range in years past. In short, we loved the place. Sally and her staff are wonderful. Each morning we had a delicious breakfast of muffins, bread & jam, fresh fruit salad, cold cereals, and coffee & tea. Afternoons were complemented by freshly made sweets. Our lovely 3rd floor room overlooked Cliff Road, and just down the hall is a set of steps that takes you up to the Widow's Walk, which offers a fantastic view of the environs. It's a very short walk into Town, nearby Something Natural sandwich shop, and a great jumping-off point for bike rides toward Madaket. I let Sally know ahead of time that we were visiting for a very special getaway, and she was so sweet to give us a bottle of wine to celebrate. Whether you enjoy staying at the inn during the day to cozy up with a book or sitting out in the garden, or prefer a more active lifestyle, we think this inn is perfect. Note that we ranked Sleep Quality as 4 stars instead of 5, only because there is some heavy construction going on behind the inn before the high season starts, and the men were hard at work by 6AM--but truly, any hotel in a quarter-mile radius would have the identical noise issue, so it's no fault whatsoever of the Cliff Lodge. Given the nightly noise ordinance, we think this will be a non-issue when the high season hits. We'll be back!

Room Tip: We overheard another guest talking to the staff about the small size of the shower in her room. Our...

Enjoyed our weekend at Cliff Lodge this past weekend. Sally, the innkeeper, is very friendly and hospitable. We were less than a 10 minute walk (even shorter if you're not wearing heels!) from the main downtown area. Our room was small, with an even smaller private bath (similar to a cruise ship), but absolutely fine since we spent very little time in our room. Sally's wine and cheese party on Friday was a great way to tide us over until our late dinner, and the continental breakfast features homemade scones and coffee cake, as well as a fruit bowl, yogurt, cereal, granola.
Also, the Cliff Lodge has a 'widow's walk' with a breath-taking view of the island and the harbor.

Room Tip: If you like a spacious room, make sure to request one.

We really enjoyed the Cliff Lodge. The location was great, a very short walk to town, with lots of restaurants and shops. Easy walk from the Steamship Ferry. The house was beautiful, the grounds were so pretty, we ate breakfast out in the yard. Sally the innkeeper was very helpful and informative about the island. We had room 6, which is beautiful because it has a view of the ocean and windows, that provide a cross breeze. However the shower really did not work well and the bed was very hard. Overall, we will stay here again..

My husband and I stumbled upon The Cliff Lodge Inn about an hour after getting off the boat. It was our first time on Nantucket, and we had no reservations and had some trouble finding bed and breakfasts with attendants to speak with. When we called the Cliff Lodge Inn, the Housekeeper, Sally, answered immediately! There were rooms available and she was ready to give us a tour! The entire building is beautiful and kept in pristine condition. The hallways and rooms are decorated with gorgeous original paintings. Outside is a quiet patio area where you can eat breakfast, read a book, or soak in some sunshine. The top of the Inn has a widows walk that overlooks the harbor and the town( we loved drinking our morning coffee up there). We chose to stay in the king room which was so perfect! We hopped into our cozy Cliff Lodge bathrobes and took a nap! When we awoke and were ready to hit the town, Sally was downstairs laying out freshly baked cookies - delectable snickerdoodles! She was full of dining recommendations and literature of Nantucket, ensuring our full enjoyment of the island. Whenever we were out, our bedroom was tidied. It was like magic. We felt that we were the only ones in the place, yet we were completely attended to. I would definitely stay here again! Lovely lovely place!

Room Tip: The big one!

Cliff Lodge is the perfect site for your next Nantucket stay. Quaint NE charm, wonderful hospitality and a location convenient to night life, tours and beaches combine to make this THE destination spot on the island. Despite its proximity to a variety of attractions, Cliff Lodge provides a quiet, peaceful refuge from the tourist hustle and bustle. Breakfast on the grounds is quite delightful, as was the beautifully restful bed - and we had the smallest room! Do yourself a favor, brave the steep staircase and treat yourself to panoramic views of the harbor and town from the Lodge's widow's watch. Being an early riser, I was lucky enough to get a preview of the home baked goods the staff would bring in for breakfast as they were arriving. Mmmm. We know where we're staying on our next trip!

Room Tip: I really don't think you can go wrong with any of the rooms.

I stayed at Cliff Lodge in the summer of 2011 with my parents who were visiting from abroad. The location was perfect for us. Sally was absolutely amazing and very helpful with everything. My parents absolutely loved it. Just booked Cliff Lodge for the summer of 2012, and looking forward to staying there again.
