“Happily Discovered, Certain to Return!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2009

Web browsing for a charming inn offering a suite to accommodate our family of four (two teenagers) over April school vacation -- quiet mid-week before Daffodil Weekend -- led us happily to our first stay at Seven Sea Street. The Deluxe Suite on 3rd floor of the Main House was absolutely perfect for us! The exposed post-and-beam charm and spaciousness, along with modern comforts, offer all a family could ask for as a base for their Nantucket explorations. Innkeepers Mary and Matt, and Assistant, Suki, could not be more gracious or welcoming to first-timers. A sociable and delicious start to each day in the cheery breakfast room was complemented by great lunch and dinner recommendations in town.
When we found the wharf bike shops were closed mid-week, Matt got on the phone, and, "voila", a bike rental agency a bit out of town, delivered a quality bike to the inn within half an hour. That says it all about the level of personalized attention and hospitality. This is a quiet inn, which is what we sought, and the atmosphere in the inviting library full of leather-bound classics drew our teens in for hours of relaxed reading with us. That's a keeper of a memory. We know we'll be back in the future, just the two of us, for some special getaways at this lovely inn.

We have had many stays at Seven Sea Street and wouldn't stay anywhere else on Nantucket! It's warm, cozy atmosphere embraces you the minute you walk in the door! Matt and Mary are perfect hosts and greet the guests as if you were family. We missed going for the last couple of years due to moving and "life". As soon we walked thru the door ..a sigh& a smile as we contemplated 2 days of relaxation! Our favorite time is morning and breakfast in the Gathering Room...we've met so many wonderful guests from near and far. The location is fabulous...short walk to Main Street. And, dinner recommendations are always right on! We'll be back next year to "sigh & smile once
again!

I have stayed at Seven Sea Street Inn 6 or 7 times over the course of 2 1/2 years, yet this is my first review. Most stays have been in Main house, first floor. Staff is always friendly and informative. Great breakfast each morning at family room type dining table. Very New England. I like being able to wonder down to the breakfast area any time of day or night and fix a cup of coffee or sneak cookie out of the cookie jar. Matt and Mary Parker, the Inn Keepers have always taken care of us, even on short notice, excpet once in the summer on short notice. Great place to stay. Our home away from home.

I took my mother to Nantucket for the first time recently, and the Seven Sea Street Inn was a perfect match to what I wanted for our stay. It provided a cozy, charming atmosphere (canopy beds, beautiful woodwork) with easy walking access to the main town area and restaurants. Our room was very clean and many quaint touches, with a modern TV and fridge. We had a great time chatting with Suki, the innkeeper, who was very kind and helped us put together a morning walk to Brant lighthouse. Don't forget to check out the widow's walk!

We felt like we were at home. Location is perfect, breakfast was great, and the staff was knowledgable and helpful. Would definitely stay again. Maid service was perfect, shower was great (I love a great shower), and being able to make coffee 24 hours a day was wonderful for a coffee drinker. Overall, exceptional!

When we called to let the innkeeper know we were on the 7pm ferry, she was so appreciative of our call; the weather had been stormy, and I thought she might think we wouldn't make it. Weary, though we were, Suki greeted us so warmly, it made it feel like a homecoming. She was intent on letting us relax and unwind, as she knew the weather we had to go through to get there. Our rooms were a wonderful surprise. One room had only one chair in it, and if I have to name something to be improved, it would be to put another chair in the room. In all fairness, we didn't spend much time in the room, as we toured the island! Breakfast was wonderful! ...hot coffee, and delicious granola, yogurt, waffles, fruit, and more. In the afternoon, Suki put out fresh baked cookies, just another reminder that we were welcomed guests. We needed to use the computer, and found the computer room very nice and comfortable, as was the library. Our compliments to the owners; what nice memories we've made!

My wife and I have been going to Nantucket for 21 years to celebrate our anniversary. Twenty of those years have been spent with Matt & Mary at the Seven Sea Street Inn and every visit has been pleasant, peaceful, & relaxing. There is not one minute of any visit that we would change. Matt & Mary are a wonderful young couple who truly care about making your visit with them and to the beautiful island of Nantucket, the most pleasing of experiences. The rooms are comfortable and relaxing like our home away from home. The morning gathering for breakfast is more than satisfying to your taste buds and the meeting of new people and the morning conversation is interesting and just a really good time. Without a doubt, we will be back again, this year.
