The whaling history is fascinating, and there are so many aspects-the ships, the captains, the whale mammal, uses for the whale blubber and oil,the arts created at sea, etc.
We were there for the Christmas tree festival. Wonderful!

Dear Michael,

Thank you for your review of your recent visit to the Whaling Museum. We're so glad to hear that you enjoyed learning about Nantucket's rich history during the heyday of whaling. While the process of whaling is interesting in itself, there's something extra special about experiencing it during the Festival of Trees in the month of December. We thank you so much for visiting and we hope to see you again on your next visit to Nantucket!

We love the whaling museum. The exhibits are of a very high and interesting quality, and the special talks and films are also very interesting. The best part of the museum for us is the children's activities room. Each afternoon they run special crafts activities for children, free once one pays for admission to the museum. My very active grandson never tired of attending these. The room is staffed by skilled adults who engage the children and guide their work. The room also has books, dress-up outfits, and a great variety of other activities. It's really a winner.

This is more than an educational spot. Of course you can learn a lot of things you never knew.
But the whole place is such a treat for all kinds of people or all ages except infants. No other
museum as far as I know devotes such time and efforts to display what is the essence of
this wonderful island, Nantucket. The whale skeleton alone is worth the modest price of
admission. In the course of a lifetime I have visited this place many times and have never
been disappointed as there is so much to see.
Do not miss this.
