“Our favorite place”

We eat at Olivio more than any other restaurant. We normally frequent restaurants where they serve full menu at the bar, Olivio certainly fills the bill. The bar is small, maybe fifteen seats so we always arrive early on Friday nights. (If running late a call to Anthony will hold our seats). The bartenders Pam and until last month Tina are personable and attentive and know how to make a comso for my wife and a great martini for me. Restaurant is chef owned and operated and the food is well presented, hot and properly prepared. The nightly specials are well thought out and a particularly good value. Parking is on street so you may have to walk a bit, but you will appreciate the walk after dinner.

“Another great meal here”
Reviewed November 23, 2012

This was our second visit to this lovely Italian family run restaurant. The first time was last September when we had a delicious meal and would have gone back two nights later but Hurricane Irene had other ideas and they were forced to close. We made a bee-line for it this trip. Due to a heavy lunch we skipped starters (although the ciabatta rolls and olive oil went down well) and went straight to mains. I had a half portion of asparagus ravioli which was so divine I wiped the bowl and my husband had the lamb ragu which he demolished. We shared a tiramisu to finish. The wine choices were excellent as was the service. The most outstanding thing was the help offered to get a taxi back to our hotel in Cambridge. We had booked late dinner (8.30 p.m.) and were the last customers to leave and the restaurant tried eight taxi firms before any success (and served us espresso and limoncello). Thank you, thank you, we will be back.

“A warm welcome, excellent food & wine, nice ambiance”
Reviewed August 22, 2012

I've been to Olivio too many times to count and there are a few special things that keep me coming back. Restaurants are primarily about the food - there are a few dishes I find irresistible; shrimp cocktail, steamed mussels, chicken parmesan, butternut squash raviolis, roasted cod and chicken bona bocca to name my favorites. Portions are large. The wines are excellent but a bit pricey, drinks are plentiful and reasonably priced (but not that many choices). The service is very good - always welcoming and attentive. The noise level sometimes rises a bit too high, especially in the small room next to the bar. One of the best deals with Olivio is that if you join their mailing list - you'll get regular discount coupons which will entice you back - they make the total price very reasonable.

“Good Italian food, good wine, good waiter.”
Reviewed June 5, 2012

Waiter was very knowledgeable about the various items on the menu and how it was prepared. I asked if Eggplant Parmigiana had the rind on the slices which I do not care for. He said it didn't and that it was very good--and it was! Split a butternut squash ravioli w/brown sage butter sauce. Excellent! Pastas come in 1/2 portions so it was nice as an appetizer. Pork Loin stuffed with figs, apricots & spinach looked like roasted chicken because it was pounded so much. Too much spinach inside but it was very good. Wine list was simple but some decent selections. Had a chocolate panna cotta topped with whipped cream. Very dense & delicious--split among 4 of us because we had so much for dinner. Ended with a delicious cappucino. A bit on the pricey side for regular Italian, however, it was good food & very good service. Location is across from a movie theater so it's a nice way to go before or after. I'll be back.
