The rotunda in the Park was a lovely place to visit, and an acknowledgment of Queen Victoria giving Norfolk Island to the people of Pitcairn Island during her reign. Norfolk Island is beautiful, very quiet, stunning scenery, a slower pace of life. Magnificent golf course, Easy to get around by car; cows have the right-of-way.

These were built as a monument to Queen Victoria in thanks for her role in bringing the Pitcairn Islanders to Norfolk Island. It is definitely worth a visit, particularly if you are going to the Cyclorama and / or Hilli's Resturant. I suspect that when in bloom it will be spectacular and for the horticulturalist or botanist there are lots of different plants. I have seen better gardens but as I said it might all be in the timing and I did not regret the time we spent there after visiting the Cyclorama.

my favourite thing in the garden was the wooden "sculpture" of the bovine family. Just delightful! The information boards in the rotunda were interesting. It would be nice to visit when the jacarandas and poincianas are blooming.

The pretty gardens are dedicated to the memory of Queen Victoria who gave the island to the Pitcairn Islanders in 1856. The gardens were created by the founder of the Cyclorama, Norfolk Islander Marie Bailey to honour Queen Victoria.

We were keen to visit Queen Victoria's Garden but were disappointed with the state of the garden. Although it was well mowed we thought that some of the shrubs could do with a tidy up and mulch.
