This has to be seen to be appreciated. Macedonia Square occupies one end of the Stone Bridge. Dominating all is the monument to Alexander the Great. He is mounted on a horse atop a column. The base of said column is surrounded by Macedonian soldiers in various warlike poses. The column is in a basin with a dancing fountain and lion statues on the perimeter.
Other statues are located around the square. These are reminiscent of Soviet realist art. Various heroes and emperors are depicted. Definitely unique
