My understanding is the interior is the oldest home in the city still in use. We ate outside and it was night, but ask permission to go inside upstairs. The wood carved ceilings are astounding.
However, restaurants are for food, and this one delivered. I'm always skeptical about restaurants serving 'authentic' local cuisine. Usually, they're a tourist trap. This restaurant had mostly locals though there were a few Germans.
We were seated outside as it was a beautiful night. They have trees and most all of the area is covered. Our waiter made a perfect suggestion for Macedonian wine which was appreciated and delicious.
The food was quick, in good quantity, and priced reasonably. All in all a must visit restaurant in Skopje and a very short walk from the square.
