I selected the 'Planter's Room' with its twin beds, as my 17th year old granddaughter would be with me for at least 1 of the 3 nights for which I had a reservation in late April 2014. Marie and Tricia are wonderful hosts. Marie stayed on the phone with us to guide us from Amherst's AMTRAK station to the Inn. Tricia served totally fabulous made-to-order breakfasts. The grounds were just beginning to show lovely signs of Spring. At night, the lights along the drive are very helpful in terms of spotting the Inn (the lovely house is set back from the street and hard to spot at night); those lights make a huge difference after dark! Our room and bath were lovely, immaculately clean; the bed very comfortable. I do suggest a few more hooks or towel racks in the bathroom (eg., a rack could be installed quite easily under the window on the bathroom door). The WiFi connection worked very well with a strong signal. I definitely will book at the Black Walnut Inn when I have an occasion to be in the Amherst, MA area.
