“Excellence that should be missed”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 12, 2012

After a couple visits to Amherst finally got to sample the delights of the Wheatberry Bakery. The best of ingredients and incredible flavors. Two of us sampled sandwiches on bread to die for, the burger, pork with a fruity apple chutney with onions, both served with the best kale chips any of us had ever eaten, and a salad of mixed fresh greens with chicken, all organic ingredients. For dessert we sampled three of the buttery, flaky, filled croissants. A real burst of flavor. A real treat that shouldn't be missed! Also, had to try the chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin cookies. The quality of ingredients was unmistakable. Owner and other staff were extremely friendly and most helpful. Is somewhat expensive, but considering the quality, is well worth the expense. If in the area again, we all agreed we would return.

“Small, local, and delicious”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 6, 2012

Many items are baked with locally grown wheat, yup that's right. And they are amazing. The selection may be small but it's all really special. Once I had a rosemary goat cheese croissant.

“Delicious Locally sourced Baked goods and meals”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 3, 2012

I have eaten breakfast and lunch here and also enjoyed their various pastries. Everything is very tasty. They are in large part all local. They grow their own wheat and make their own baked goods from breads to scrumptious flour less chocolate tarts. Their chicken beef and pork comes from local farmers as does their veggies and salads. They also serve Fair Trade coffee which I am a great fan of. The owners and staff are very friendly. The store front itself is small but very quaint. Well you have to see for yourself what I mean. Oh yeah they are across from the Emily Dickinson museum and on the edge of Amherst Center.
