Our room was attractive. We especially liked the flat-screen TV mounted on the wall. But the supplied ethernet cable didn't work for us—neither did the replacement we were given at the front desk—so my husband was without Internet service during our one-night stay. Also, we couldn't turn down the heat in our room, which was blasting away; we had to open the window to sleep. There was a happy ending, though. We talked with the hotel staff the next day, everyone was both nice and apologetic, and our bill was adjusted. We will certainly stay there again. I really appreciate that level of responsiveness.

This was our second trip and we love it! Very clean, front desk is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are so clean and very modern, you can tell they put in a lot of work to keep it in good condition. Makes it pleasant for visits to UMASS, Amherst if you have a child there or just to visit the college, it is so convenient and is always quiet too!

This hotel is the best in the Amherst/Northampton area, in terms of room quality and price. A previous guest described it as clean, convenient and cheap, but not very comfortable. I read on the web site that it had been completely renovated, and the price was about half of what the chain hotels on Rt 9 were asking, so we booked a room. The rooms are beautifully done - very sleek and modern, great glassed-in shower, extremely clean and comfortable. We stayed there over Memorial Day Weekend, so the students had gone home for the summer and the only people in the campus center were hotel guests. The room was of the same quality or higher than the four-star hotels we stay in when visitng major cities. A simple but nice continental breakfast is included for free, which is nice bcause it is a bit of a walk to town. Other food options are available in the camus center below the hotel.Free in-and-out privileges in the parking garage. Just be aware that you MUST enter the hotel through the parking garage - you can't drive up to the door.

The hotel rooms are nicely renovated however the staff needs to improve the cleaning service. Otherwise, the newly renovated rooms won't hold up to high use. The bathroom was clean but not spotless (the mirror was dirty and the floor wasn't cleaned well). The carpet in the room certainly hides most dirt so it was disappointing to see any dirt. The beds are awful. The plastic lined mattress pad makes the bed incredibly hot and the linens are very uncomfortable. They aren't cotton, they aren't breathable and the blanket is the polyester type you find in most low budget hotels.

Great location if you're visiting colleges in the area and nicely renovated but not a great night sleep due to uncomfortable beds.

I spent five nights here while working at a UMass research center, and it could scarcely have been better. The renovated hotel is airy and spotless, the room was large and comfortable, with free internet and an excellent desk chair (useful for an arthritic!), the staff were extremely helpful. There is free parking in the Center garage, and complimentary breakfast (very simple: bagels, croissants, donuts, muffins, danish, and yoghurt) in the lobby café. The mattresses are an odd kind of foam, but to my surprise one sleeps very well on them. My only criticism concerns the pillows: fiercely anti-allergenic no doubt, but also the kind that fight back when you dig your head into them.
The price was more than reasonable: $104 per night, as against $119 in the rather dingy University Lodge.
This would be a good place to stay for any university person, but it might even be a good jumping-off point for excursions around the lovely Five College area.
