Driving back to our Inn from Mount Greylock we happened upon Haflinger Haus in Adams, MA. We're glad that we did. The food was very good, and a lot of it. We each took home half of what we ordered, which made for a very nice lunch in our room the next day. The service was great, as was the atmosphere. It's in an old house, which still has much of the old detailing. The menu was somewhat limited, with not a huge number of choices. We were surprised at the reasonable prices, expecting it to be more expensive. I would definitely recommend it.

I have been to the Haflinger Haus 3 times and each and every time it was absolutely delicious. The place is so welcoming and full of class. Each time I went I tried something different and was totally impressed with them all. I have had the Weiner Schnitzel with Spaetzle, Hungarian Goulash and Scallops. The Grey Goose Martinis are the best! It's nice to just have a place close to home that has great food and very reasonable prices. I wish the best of luck to the Sommer family and I sure hope the Haflinger Haus is around for a long time. I certainly will be back very soon.

We recently had the good fortune to have dinner at the Haflinger Haus and spend the night in the recently re-opened downtown Adams historic building. Upon entering the building, we were asked to "Pardon our appearance during renovations"; however, any renovations that are underway are well out of sight. The restaurant/inn is warm and welcoming, and our experience was delightful. The restaurant offers both pub dining near the bar area and a full dining room with magnificent fireplaces. We ate dinner in the dining room where we began with a crepe, garlic, chicken, artichoke and shrimp appetizer in filo dough. It was large enough to be an entree, and it was to die for!! We then selected the weiner schnitzel with spaetzle, and the hungarian goulash. Both were delicious and came with a lovely fresh house salad with marinated Hungarian cucumbers! Other salads on the menu included a baby green salad with Cabernet poached pear, Berkshire blue cheese, candied almonds, and Dijon port dressing! Yum! In addition to five Austrian entrees, the Haflinger Haus offers six American entrees, including shrimp, steak, salmon, pork, haddock and pasta. The pub menu is yet different, with a good variety of selections. All prices are very reasonable. We concluded our meal with Black Forrest cake which was moist, flavorful and decadent! Other dessert options included apple strudel and crepes. The restaurant offers a very good selection of wines, as well as a children's menu.

We spent the night in room 4, a very large and spacious room, eclectic, and again with a magnificent fireplace! In fact, all the rooms boast lovely fireplaces (not yet in working order, but planned for the future!) The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom had recently been renovated. Chef Alexis prepared a lovely Austrian-style breakfast for us in the morning! If you go, you will not be disappointed!!
