“Fantastic experience, will definitely return soon”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 8, 2013

We recently dined at Sprig's restaurant in Acton, MA. We were looking for an upscale local restaurant and definitely found it. We will certainly be back very soon. The menu was extensive enough that we had difficulty deciding. We each had an appetizer and both were delicious. I had the lamb chop appetizer special, which was cooked well, though the smaller chop was slightly overdone. The tzatziki sauce it came with was one of the better tzatzikis I have had. My husband had the agnolotti which was wonderful. Good amounts of squash and a delicious sauce as well. I had the salmon for dinner and my husband had the haddock. He wasn't sure he really wanted fish, but was very impressed with how it was prepared and raved about it. For dessert we settled on creme brulee and molten chocolate hazelnut torte. I am hard to impress with a molten chocolate cake these days, but this was perfectly cooked and delicious. The grand marnier ice cream with it was the perfect accompaniment. We are already trying to plan our next trip back so we can sample the other options on the menu.

“Great food; excellent for small groups.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 16, 2012

Dined at Sprigs with a group of about 15 businesspeople. We had a cozy private room. The crabcake starters were a hit (very large) and the main entrees were also excellent! I had the pan seared tournedoes of beef topped with red wine butter, served over jambalaya rice (made with chorizo sausage, red and greed bell peppers, onions and Creole seasonings) ... outstanding!
The service was friendly and professional, but the kitchen was slow to turn out all of the courses.

My husband went here all the time when it was Chez Claude, always for birthday or special occasions, he even proposed to me on the night Chez Claude closed. Its now Sprigs and its lovely as ever. The couple that own it are so nice. The food is Exquisite! I would recommend making reservations!

“Lovely Local Gem”

So happy we decided to try Sprigs again after a few years, what an improvement! Delicious gourmet in-house made everything. The charcuterie plate to begin was a huge hit including pork belly and duck confit and it changes daily. The caesar salad is a fun presentation served with a garlic flan. Entrees enjoyed down to the plate included the lamb shank with parsnip puree and the duck breast in a cherry sauce. So tender. I highly recommend the home-made Grand Marnier Ice Cream. This experience was delightful, such a warm and inviting place. GREAT service. I just wish the lights were a tad softer, especially in the bar.

“Best of class”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 9, 2012

We dined at Sprigs after waiting out Hurricane Sandy, and it was worth the wait. The service was welcoming, professional and attentive--clearly a very well-trained operation. The food was superb. We started with the charcuterie platter: braised pork belly, cured lomo, duck confit, and lamb pate. All are made in-house, and were uniformly superb. My wife had the evening's special of rabbit wrapped in prosciutto with a pear glaze, and a squash puree infused with pear. The dish was remarkable, a beautiful combination of game, sweet and salt, all in perfect balance. I had the duck with sweet potato gnocchi, which was prepared with a mild barbecue inspired sauce. Perfectly cooked and delectable. It is virtually impossible to overstate the level of comfort that we experienced at Sprigs due to the outstanding service that we received from our server Kate, and the owners of the restaurant. As good as the meal tasted, the experience of dining at Sprigs, regardless of the food, made it a special evening. We left the restaurant feeling that only Primo in Maine has offered a complete experience perhaps superior to that of Sprigs.
