Not just for locals anymore, the Blue Rooster Cafe is making a host of visual, menu and option changes to their delightful setting. Located in charming Cape St. Claire, just outside Annapolis, the Cafe has recently acquired a wine and beer license. It appears that they are on the brink of adding a dinner menu to their serving schedule as well. What my husband and I enjoy is the quirky blend of flavors from New Orleans, Memphis and Annapolis, all with an emphasis on local roasters, brewers, farmers and bakers. A Cajun Turkey sandwich on ciabatta roll was enhanced with green goddess dressing and homemade bagel chips. A Chicken Caesar sandwich was made much more exciting by a spicy dressing and sun dried tomato wrap. I give the former executive chef from Washington D.C. kudos for his hands-on approach and attention to the smallest details. He has a fun staff, each of whom seems committed to serving his hybrid offerings with pride and a smile. We always leave wearing two of our own!
