Can't understand the bad reviews this hotel has had. Our room was very big and one of the most comfortable I have stayed in - and I travel a lot! The room overlooked the lovely indoor cloak yard. We arrived after midnight but the night porter could not have been more friendly and helpful. The excavated heating system off the lobby was a nice touch. I really loved this hotel and would recommend it.

We went on to stay in Washington but wished we had stayed in Annpolis for another night.

I know there are 3 buildings they use so maybe the others are not so great - we stayed in Governor Calvert house.

My husband and I spent our 15th anniversary at The Robert Johnson House. The hotel was completely charming, and the furnishings were elegant. The staff was friendly and courteous. I was surprised that a building of this age was so quiet. The location could not be better. I've just booked our next weekend stay!

My Girlfriend and I stayed in this Hotel one night on a recent visit to Annapolis. The hotel is located in a perfect location, within a two minute walk to the waterfront area. The Hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was a bit small, but beautifully decorated and with a very comfortable bed. We stayed in the Robert Johnson House, Which is a stones throw from the main Hotel. The property was clean and secure and offered complimentary coffee and fruit in the Lobby. The Valet parking was convienent, because we didn't need are car once we checked in. We would most defenitely stay here again. Well done.

The Calvert House -Annapolis
We were pleasantly surprised by the newly decorated rooms at the Calvert House which is one of the properties listed under Inns Of Annapolis. We had stayed there before and were disappointed by the rather shabby decor but had been told by management that renovations were under way.We were there this past weekend with 30 friends and family for our daughter's wedding and all were pleased with the accomodations. You can't beat the location in State Circle because you can walk to all attractions in downtown Annapolis.

Customer service could not have been worse. Front desk staff through to management.
Facilities resembled a hostel, and it is a crime that the Inn gets away with those room rates.
Even the remodeled hotel was unclean and had a number of facility issues.
Be very careful with the term "Historic" - in this case it doesn't mean "quaint" it means "dump."
