“An Annapolis Favorite but Room for Improvement”
Reviewed August 12, 2013 via mobile

Consistently creative, tasty food start to finish and attentive service by knowledgeable friendly waitstaff. We DO recommend Level as one of the best Annapolis has to offer.

Our only disappointment is the noise level. It is loud to deafening in places, particularly when there is a large group upstairs. Having been there several times before, and wanting friends new Level to have a favorable impression, we requested a window table on the first floor. Instead we were seated upstairs, mid room, elbow to elbow with a four top next to us - nearly communal. When we called the hostess' attention to the fact that our reservation requested a table downstairs and asked if we could be seated there, she made no attempt to work it out even though we were on time and willing to wait for a better table. We got to know far too much about our neighbors and I'm sure they feel the same.

Level would improve with better acoustics especially upstairs.

We will be back, but hope our request is honored in the future.

Sat at the bar a couple of weeks ago. The food was great, small plates don't fill you up, but taste amazing. Servers were very attentive. Great wine paired with the dinner. I was made to feel at home. Bartenders were very helpful in recomending other great restuarants and bars in Annapolis. Very helpful and I have already recomended the place to other travelers. Bravo!

“Great food, lousy experience”
Reviewed July 13, 2013

We were very excited to try Level since it was rated in the top 50 restaurants in the Baltimore area. We were also excited because they had dancing. We confirmed the time music for dancing started when we made our reservation. First, we were seated next to the door, where the hostesses rears were level with our faces, just a foot away. It was also very loud.
Then, we were only 1 couple and they brought all the food at one time, so in order for everything to be eaten at the proper temperature, we were done in 30 minutes. We had our drinks and planned on ordering wine and dessert later. When we left the table to use the restrooms, they started clearing our table. Our drinks weren't even finished.
Next we ordered wine and they brought the wrong one. THEN we found out they didn't have dancing at all. It was a very poor dining experience.

“Tapas style dining that rivals big cities”
Reviewed June 30, 2013 via mobile

Looking for a place where we could linger and visit over food, we tried Levels. Although we did not have reservations, they made room for the three of us. They feature large complimentary bottles of water at the table and were attentative without fussy. We sampled an excellent hummus with a grilled flatbread, tasty grilled calarami, excellent satay, and a ahi tuna over wine. The coffee ice cream was fabulous. This is a great place to linger and snack. We sat in the first floor dining room, but there are bars up and downstairs for more of a meet and greet vibe. The food is excellent and farm fresh but not for those on a budget.
