Chose the Westin for proximity to USNA, and got a good rate from Hotwire.

The layout of the hotel and the parking garage underneath is confusing. (Not true that you are FORCED to use Valet. There is a self-park garage located onsite, which is a city-owned garage, not owned by Westin, so parking caps at $10.) The checkin desk is difficult to find.

I called the hotel before our arrival to ask about the free shuttle as my plan was to use this as a way to get closer into the heart of the old town area and near the gates of the USNA. Was assured the shuttle was available whenever needed. We asked to use shuttle after arrival to return to USNA, and while the valet was happy to send us along our way, the shuttle driver was not. He had just returned from a run, and muttered to the valet, "After this run, just tell people the shuttle isn't running today."

Our first night there, some yabbo pulled the fire alarm in the middle of the night. There were several parties going on that Friday night; a corporate party, and a wedding. These parties are the responsibility of the hotel, and if guests get unruly due to too much alcohol and disturb other guests, well...whose fault is that? Not mine; the hotel did nothing, not even offering an apology.

The hotel is masked with modern furnishings, but underneath, the services are just typical. The plugs in the desk lamp were broken, so I had to climb under the desk for an outlet. Plus, $10 per day for internet. That one really irks me when you can get it free at Holiday Inn! Free Wi-Fi should be the norm these days, even at "luxury" hotels.
Service a little lacking for what they expect you to pay for all the amenities. I don't plan on staying there again.

I had another wonderful trip to Annapolis last weekend. The Westin is a very nice property but is going downhill fast!! The quality control manager needs to either be fired or properly trained on what a 4 star hotel should maintain to please its guests.
Smaller items such as burned out light bulbs in the room, an empty and unplugged mimi bar along with empty beer bottles and half smoked cigars snuffed out in the planters can turn one to wonder why a WESTIN property would allow this to stay this way(3days and still that way when I left). The main bar and lounge area and a major lack of service from the bar staff will send guests across the street to Fado and other venues to seek drink and hospitality. The fire alarm was pulled by an unruly drunk guest attending a wedding at 3am. which made me furious and made for avery unrestful nights sleep...not the fault of the hotel however, but NEVER received an apology for having to stand outside in 27 degree cold night!! Valet parking is outragious $$ and you are forced to use it.. I was also charged $40.00 plus tax for a missing towel that I never took.
They need to shape up or they will just become another "it used to be nice" hotel.

We stayed here to hang out in downtown Annapolis, and the location was good for that purpose. It was a nice hotel overall. There was a shuttle going to downtown which sounded nice although we didn't actually use it- the walk was not too far. The gym was very good (there were about 5 treadmills, one elliptical, two bikes and lots of free weights - impressive for a hotel gym) and the pool looked good although we didn't use it. Every staff member we spoke to was friendly, helpful and efficient. The showers had two shower heads which was cool (although they had this note up like 'to save water, don't use both shower heads if you don't need them' - um, who doesn't at least want to try out two shower heads if they're available?? don't make me feel bad for using your cool shower!).

There were also a couple of things I'd change, or at least that we didn't love. The bed was soft, which sounds good but it was REALLY REALLY soft, like too soft. Both of our backs hurt when we woke up in the morning because it actually became uncomfortable after awhile. The towels and washcloths were scratchy. We tried to go to the little coffee place in the lobby in the morning, but nobody working there ever showed up, so we gave up on that. These were all really small things overall, but I guess I thought Westins were a little fancier and so I thought some small things like these might have been taken care of. Still, it was no big deal - we enjoyed our stay and would probably even stay there again.

The hotel is nice, clean, centrally located, and has a friendly staff. The only negatives are the $23 a day valet parking and lack of a hotel gift shop. Expensive parking is what I have come to expect from staying at other Westin properties. I booked the deal as a last minute special on the spg site and paid $125/night which I thought was more than fair for such a nice hotel. Will definitly stay here on my next trip to Annapolis.

Do not ever host an event at this place, they overbooked our guests and had to shuffle many into other hotels. The food was great however the service was absolutely horrid. The bartenders were extremely rude, refusing to take out of state drivers license resulting in many of the guests not being served. On top of not taking the out of state license on bartender particular was so rude about it she put one of the guests to tears by the amount of embarrassment she caused. I didn't get her name but she was an older blond lady. The bartenders were also so slow in their service many of the guests had to wait 20-30 minutes in line to get a drink missing the first course of the meal. By the time they got back to their tables the wait staff had already cleared the table, (to include their plates). In conclusion the hotel is beautiful but do not ever consider hosting any type of large event at this hotel. The beauty and great food do not come close to making up for how their employees treat their guests.

We appreciate receiving feedback from our guest from Connecticut. Our goal is to provide exceptional service throughout the operations of the Westin Annapolis and most certainly in our private banquet and catering venues. There can never be a reason for rude or slow service. This is not the level of experience we strive for and certainly have addressed with our team members. We do in fact accept out of state drivers’ license. In this particular incident it was involving a “vertical” license which is given to identify drivers who are under age. This is particularly critical when in an area serving alcohol as our team members are instructed to not accept vertical license to serve alcohol under any circumstances. We do apologize for the inconveniences and for any miscommunications and appreciate receiving this feedback.

Very nice Westin - we stayed for one night only and stayed in a beautiful corner room. Hotel is just on the outskirts of Annapolis but only about 10 minutes walk from the historical center. No club lounge in this hotel but there is a nice bar off the lobby and a Morton's steakhouse next door. One of the better Westin hotels on the east coast.

We loved our stay here. They were very nice at check-in and gave us an age-appropriate little goody bag for both of our children (an infant and toddler). One had a night-light, first-aid kit, and rubber duckie in it- how perfect for our stay! Its very rare that any place even acknowledge our little ones as anything other than an inconvenience much less give them a treat, so it was really appreciated. The room (and hotel) was modern decor, sparkling clean, comfortable and cozy. Great location, lots of nice restaurants and pubs in walking distance.
