Specialties include smoked fish of the day (on premise), cream of crab and Maryland crab soups and an extensive list of crab and seafood specialties. The First Lady came from the White House to enjoy our crab cakes. The Boatyard has the most extensive raw bar in the area including a variety of oysters, clams, shrimp and mussels. The Boatyard receives awards for being most family friendly and having the best burger on the Bay. Its weekend brunch is the best in the area. The Boatyard is located in the historic maritime district of Eastport-a short walk or water taxi from Annapolis City Docks. Its photo boat films the local sailing races and shows them nightly. Named by Coastal Living, Sailing World and Sail Magazine as one of world's top sailing/boating restaurants.

we were in town for a wedding, and had time on a sunday to explore Annapolis. we were seated right away, glad we got there early enough as they filled up quickly... the breakfast/brunch menu was very extensive... it was hard to choose from the different egg dishes that all had a little flourish to their descriptions. so as I was deciding and two others at my table ordered the bagel with smoked salmon, I switched to order the same thing. not disappointed, as can sometimes happen when you are from the new York/new jersey area and have a certain criteria for your bagels and lox. they even had veggie cream cheese, yum.... also bloody mary and mimosas for $4. before a certain time... next time in the area will try them for a lunch or dinner.

We often bypass Boatyard Bar and Grill because of the wait, but this past Sunday we decided to stay for the 45 minutes to get a table. We were very glad we did. They had a special lobster roll served with your choice of salads or fries. The sandwiches were delicious, full of succulent lobster pieces. I had potato salad which was obviously freshly made and very good. We will return but try to time our visits on the off times so as to avoid the wait.

Went with anticipation of great meal
Atmosphere akin to a chain themed place, TGI Fridays springs to mind
Server was pleasant and efficient
Food - fish taco blackened mhai mhai? was small and expensive for what you got
Fat scallops was good (partner enjoyed them)
Finding most food so far on this US road trip not living up to expectations
