In my opinion, this should be the best restaurant in Annapolis. I've been coming here for years on my annual visits to Annapolis and always look forward to Miss Peggy's crab cakes. They're huge and made with just enough egg to barely hold them together for an outstanding, classic jumbo lump crab cake. I always side it with bleu cheese mashed potatoes. My friend always gets the shepherds pie. Set in a historic building just off the Capitol it's convenient access by foot if walking around downtown Annapolis. Galway Bay is a restaurant on the left and a pub on the right with a great assortment of Irish beers on tap and several whiskeys. It's a notch or two higher than most Irish pubs; quality food and great service. A must do while visiting Annapolis.

This is a great spot for a quiet dinner, and the food is good. We had the crabcakes and they were perfect.

Our family of four went to dinner for the first time at Galway Bay before going to a show. Annapolis is a great area anyway - but the restaurant is located conveniently to other venues in Annapolis as well. All the dishes we had with corned beef (appetizer & entree) were excellent. Lamb stew was also very good. Other members of our dinner party had the fish and chips, and liver and onions. While we were told they felt they were good - they were not outstanding. We had also had heard great things about the tomato whiskey soup - but honestly we weren't really impressed with it. Likewise, the service was just sufficient - but not outstanding. Overall, we enjoyed our dinner and Galway Bay - and would return there for dinner again.

This was one of the best places to eat during this past weeks boat show. Food was great, servers awesome and a great time was had by all. You have to try the Corned Beef Poppers, unusual and delicious!

After touring the Naval Academy our guide recommended Galway's for their crab cakes. We arrived at 2pm, and found it very busy on a Sat (Boat Show was in town). The Tomato Whiskey soup was outstanding. The fried oysters were on par with New Orleans. Crabcakes were loaded with crabmeat and not overly seasoned. My nephew attends the Naval Academy so we will surely be back on future visits.
