After touring the Naval Academy our guide recommended Galway's for their crab cakes. We arrived at 2pm, and found it very busy on a Sat (Boat Show was in town). The Tomato Whiskey soup was outstanding. The fried oysters were on par with New Orleans. Crabcakes were loaded with crabmeat and not overly seasoned. My nephew attends the Naval Academy so we will surely be back on future visits.

We were in Annapolis for three days on business. We went to GB three times! Monday night was burger night served with excellent fries. Calamari was very good too. Try the Irish Pale Ale from Old Dominion. The same company makes great root beer which they have too. We only visited the bar area and were very satisfied with it.

The two bartenders who served us didn't seem all that friendly at first pour, but they really opened up and were excellent.

Went into Galway Bay on a rainy day and it definitely hit the spot - a warm environment with lovely comfort food! We had crab cakes for an appetizer (tasty!) and then I had the whiskey tomato soup (delicious!) and the scallop bites off the appy menu for my main. The scallops were cooked perfectly - definitely recommend them! Had the chocolate espresso Bailey's mousse for dessert and I also highly recommend it! Was fantastically delicious. This is a casual atmosphere with good food and good service with a fairly diverse menu for an Irish pub.

Galway Bay does it all right. I eat here every time I visit Annapolis and it always gives an incredible experience. The tomato and irish whiskey soup is awesome but the crab cakes are just to die for, and in a land where crab is king, that is a big statement! Dining room or bar, either side gives a wonderful Irish feel. Love it!!

A bit crowded, but an excellent place for a pint of Smithwick's. Great bartenders. Recommended if you enjoy the atmosphere of an Irish pub.
