“Imagine setting up tables on your deck and inviting all your neigbors and their families over for a casual crab feast”
Reviewed May 18, 2013 via mobile

This is a very casual come as you are Maryland crab deck. You crack whole crabs on folding picnic tables with paper table covering using wooden mallets and knives to pick out the crab meat. They serve everything on paper or plastic except your silverware. You are sitting on benches close but that's part of the fun! We came on Saturday night at 6 pm and waited for 45 minutes for a table for 11. You can walk down to the dock area and see where the crabs are sorted and delivered. Tonight prices were $55-$80 per dozen depending on size. I ordered the rockfish stuffed with crab imperial and it was good. My parents ordered crab cakes and soft shell crab and they enjoyed theirs too. Our children all ordered non-seafood items such as pizza, hamburger, chicken, hot dogs, etc. We also received free birthday cake for everyone compliments of Cantler's which was a pleasant surprise and appreciated! Overall this is the way we always ate crabs as a kid so I'm thrilled to share the experience with my family. We will be back again!

“Atmospheric”
Reviewed May 16, 2013

Sit on the deck beside the waters of the Chesapeake Bay and tuck into freshly steamed blue swimmer crab. Get really messy and enjoy a glass of wine or a local beer. Not a fancy meal out but a great place to get together with friends..

“Down home terrific!”
Reviewed May 13, 2013

This is one of those places on the East Coast that you are waterside, sitting at a long table with lots of people you don't know, eating totally fresh and delicious seafood. So it was a little tricky to find, and the atmosphere is a bit noisy, but it was definitely fun and great eating. I was too lazy to do the fresh crabs, but I had their crab cakes, and they were special! The bill for 4 of us was about $109.00. Not bad.

“Great clams, rockfish, crab”
Reviewed May 6, 2013

We wanted to get hard crabs, but they were VERY pricey. Instead we order the steamers, which were excellent, raw oysters, crab cakes and crab stuffed rockfish. All was excellent, except for the fact that my boyfriend ordered a crab cake sandwich and got the platter. We both also ordered asparagras with our food and were served a mediocre vegetable medley instead. The seafood, however, was excellent and we were served large portions. Cantler's is tucked away on a creek. You have to go through a small neighborhood to get there and the parking is awful. The nice part is that boats can dock there while they are eating.

“Excellent Seafood about $25 each with drink”
Reviewed May 3, 2013

This restaurant is on the river and a little hard to find but well worth the trip. We sat outside on the deck which had heaters so it was comfortable. The seafood was really good. Lots of customers eating crabs. We had grouper and shrimp. Both excellent. Plenty to eat. Our waitress was pleasant but once she put our plates on the table we never saw her again until we asked another passing waiter to bring our bill. She then re-appeared to ask if we wanted some key lime pie. NO, way to late although 20 minutes before we would have said Yes. Closes at 10PM.
