We hadn't read much about this place, but we walked along Main Street for two days and saw all of the people waiting outside so we decided to check it out on a Sunday morning. We were seated within 3 minutes of arriving at a very small table in the corner. The menu was overwhelming, but I quickly decided on two egg whites scrambled with bacon. The bread was tasty (baked downstairs). The coffee was okay, not as strong as I would have liked. We arrived in time for the Pledge which caught us off guard, but such a great tradition and so fun. The service was good.

We got a doughnut to go, a whoopie pie and a loaf of bread. The whoopie pie was delicious. I'd go back again just for the experience and try some of the other menu items.

Really interesting place to have breakfast full of local flavor and interesting quirkiness (including the "largest milkshakes in the world and can win a t shirt if you can drink the milkshake and eat a giant burger in less than an hour"... Lots of locals inside we all found it interesting. Super patriotic (they did the pledge of allegiance at 9:30am) which we thought was great (Annapolis is the home of the naval academy) and the servers were very friendly. The food was decent not great. Typical dinner fare. I would go with low expectations and more for the atmosphere.

Place is kind of small but the food is great and the wait staff is very attentive. Many locals go there.

In a town not known for Jewish eateries or Jewish anything, we were surprised to find a Jewish deli here in Annapolis. Perhaps "Jewish deli-style" would be a more appropriate moniker. If you have eaten in a New York deli, you will find this deli average at best. As a break from the crab cake and burger joints, a meal here might be worth a try. Be warned that for breakfast and lunch the restaurant is crowded and service can be slow. We had a very disappointing breakfast here that featured cold eggs and a dish that was so salty tasting it was inedible. A generous three stars on the assumption that this is not typical. Be warned -- or prepared -- to stand and recite the Pledge of Allegiance 8:30 AM on weekdays and 9:30 AM on weekends. There's something rankling about forced patriotism. In our highly polarized society, many will read in a political message with which they concur or find objectionable. Save the Pledge for public venues and events, not breakfast.

We stayed at Scotlaur Bed & Breakfast which is above Chick&Ruth's Delly while in Annapolis MD both are run by the the same family. What an enjoyable time we had in this wonderfully located Inn, smack in the middle of everything We parked our car and never got back in it for 3 days.

Our room #301 was in the front of the building and very little street traffic was heard. It was very large, with a king size bed and a pull out couch if needed. The bed was comfortable and my only complaint was the pillows as they were like logs. That is the only negative in this review. The room was a little wore but clean and I'm sure if there was anything we needed the staff would have gotten it for us.

Breakfast was included in the cost of the room and it was good food and plenty of it. Right at 8;30 am both mornings we stood and said the Pledge of Allegiance. I think the last time we said it was in grade school and we shook hands with people around us. A wonderful act of patriotism.

I would certainly recommend Chick&Ruth's Delly and the Scotlaur Inn.
