“A must stop when visiting Annapolis”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 4, 2012

Chick & Ruth's is an Annapolis institution. Whether you go for breakfast and the Pledge of Allegiance, or later in the day for their great sandwichws and milkshakes, it's a fun place.

“WOW!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 2, 2012

We went to lunch at Chick & Ruth's Delly because of the TA reviews. The menu is huge! The portions can be - 6 pound shakes and 3 pound hamburgers if you want to reinact a Man vs Food episode. The delli could be out of the 60s, the waitresses have personalities, the owner stops by each table to make sure you are being taken care of (ask him to do a coin trick!). You will always remember the meal, unlike another trip to McDonalds. Do not pass this place up.

“What is the fuss about?”

If you walk by, there is a wait outside. However, once seated, the delivery of delcious food was not to be. Definitely not worth the wait

“Just fun”

Great sandwiches. NY Deli style! Love the ambiance! Take time just to read the menu - sandwiches named for local politicians.

“Great local hang-out”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 26, 2012

Chick and Ruth's is where all the Annapolis politicians, legislators and lawyers go. It's not very big, and the booths are tiny, but this restaurant is definitely one of a kind. This morning I stopped by for breakfast before jury duty at the nearby courthouse. I arrived just before 7 and seated myself. The waitress brought coffee in under a minute to my booth. The menu is huge, with two full pages for breakfast; breakfast is served all day. It's not fine dining, it's a deli, and it features all deli food. I chose a cheese and mushroom omelette, and it was served with delicious home fries with onions (obviously not frozen from a bag) and toast. While I waited it was interesting to read the names of prominent local citizens and their favorite foods, displayed on the wall. The service was speedy, and the food was tasty. The total was under $10.

I've been here for lunch and a late dinner, too, and it was good then as well. They are open until 11:30 during the week and 12:30 on weekends. My daughter and three other teens once tried to finish the giant 6 pound ($16.50) milkshake, without success.
