“Not the Phillip's I am used too”
Reviewed August 29, 2013 via mobile

Phillip's has always been a good dining experience but this place can not uphold the brand. Just a tourist trap with a limited menu. I was very disappointed in the meal, crab cakes were the worst I had anywhere in Annapolis, and for $28 they come with potato salad and cole slaw, no soup, no salad, no bread. Don't waste your time, there are a dozen better restaurants within 300 yards of this place.

A pitcher of Sangria was half price on Saturday, should have been half off again, a slice of orange, slice of lime and a slice of something else doesn't equal loaded with fresh fruit as they advertise and the rest tasted like juice.

“Unfortunate visit”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

We had a day trip in beautiful Historic Annapolis and I think we made the worse choice to pick up this restaurant. I think without Phillips Crab Deck, Annapolis would be nicer and more beautiful.

The host told us we could eat main level deck and in a minute another host told us that there was a misunderstanding , we should wait at least twenty minute in the empty restaurant!

Then we have been decided next to bar in lower level , since the kids are very hungry we accepted this offer.

Service was very poor and our host take our order very late...

I think they would like to make good after several mistakes and two of the waiters came and ask several times that we were satisfied or not. We were not.

Then after, we asked for the kids apple sauce two dessert spoons and faced with table spoons.

Final is the worse closing. Without asking the bill, bill was in our table...

If you have a chance plan ahead, please skip this crab from your list.

“Yuck! It just felt dirty.”
Reviewed July 21, 2013

Met up with family to exchange kids and have dinner at Phillips Crab Deck. Found them sitting at a downstairs table. The waiter was nice enough, but sweating profusely enough to have body odor. He was very friendly and quick to bring our drinks each time we needed more. The food arrived in acceptable time. What he failed to do, even once, was to clear dirty plates from the table. My niece took some away. The others languished on our table for the remainder of the visit. That might have explained the multiple flies buzzing incessantly around our heads! Now to the food. The food was a disappointment, with very stingy portions for very high prices. The quality was far below what we expected for a renowned seafood place. The restrooms were atrocious. The downstairs ladies' room featured human waste on the floor and filthy overflowing trash cans. The men's room was disgusting and smelled terribly. Neither appeared to have been cleaned in a long while. While waiting in the car, I noticed an older gentleman whom I presumed to be a manager, talking on a cellphone while strolling the outside of the restaurant to pick up debris. Perhaps his next stroll should take him to the restrooms. One positive: the pineapple coconut infused rum! Quite delicious! There are so many nonchain restaurants with similar or better views that work hard for your money. Phillips, alas, is not to be repeated.

“3 Strikes and You Are Out!!”
Reviewed July 18, 2013

We spent a week in Annapolis and were eager to feast on crab. Unfortunately, Phillips Crab Deck was one of our first stops and basically brought our quest for crab to a screeching halt.

The atmosphere was fine, the waiter was nice, the crab cakes were OK, but very small for the money... the crab was just plain nasty. We ordered the Crab Feast for $50 which included 6 crabs and peel-n-eat shrimp. The crabs were not thoroughly cooked, and if you have ever eaten steamed crabs, you know undercooked crabs are unappetizing when you break them open. The waiter had to replenish the batch as we tried to eat the remainder of the food (potatoes, shrimp). The next batch came and it was not much better. The waiter then tried to replace the individual crabs as we broke them open, which is awkward and again...unappetizing at best. It is also ridiculous to have to eat your meal without the main course. By the time the last batch of crabs arrived, we were done and disgusted. They were not properly done either so 3 strikes and you are out!!

Fortunately we had many great meals at many of the other restaurants in Annapolis.

“Don't waste your money!”
Reviewed July 12, 2013

This is not typical Maryland seafood! Please go to one of the local non-chain restaurants such as Pusser's, McGarvey's, Lewnes etc. to experience the taste of real Maryland seafood! I live outside of Annapolis and locals don't consider Phillips a good place to go!
