Navy Lodge Annapolis
Certificate of Excellence
Reviewed April 14, 2014 via mobile

Loved the room, location directly across from PX, very well done renovations. Easy to get to from DC or Baltimore. Customer service between this and the Navy lodging at the Naval School was extremely helpful. We want to try the one at the Academy next time we stay - which we will!

Stayed two nights and really enjoyed accommodations. I generally do not stay in Navy Lodge but found it comparable to hotels I typically stay. Double queen beds are available which was needed for accompanying children. Also dog friendly a big plus! Free breakfast has limited items so you're better off finding alternative choice.

When we stayed there last week, the Lodge was halfway through renovation. The left half of the Lodge was renovated - the right side is going to be started on this week. Even though we were in the older side, it was still very nice. We had two queen beds, a flat screen TV, and a kitchenette. We were very comfortable. The main downside (and the reason I didn't give it an excellent rating) is the housekeeping. Drinking glasses weren't replaced during our 4-night stay - and towel replacement was spotty.

The staff was very helpful and friendly, and the location was great. Despite the renovation, it was quiet.

I can tell you that we walked through the renovated rooms and they are GORGEOUS!

Good to know is that breakfast wasn't offered, unlike other Navy Lodges. When I asked, I was told that breakfast wasn't offered during reno. Coffee, tea and hot chocolate mixes are available 24-7.

Room Tip: Ask for a renovated room.

This place looks like it is scheduled for a major remodel soon of the guest rooms and lobby area and yes, it is slightly dated. But it still merits a 4- or 5-start rating because of all of the reasons stated above in the title of my review.

My room was HUGE with 2 queen beds and a big kitchenette stocked with everything you need for a longer stay or to just make a few meals in the room. Front desk people all very friendly.

Only 2 small complaints... The refrigerator in the room was set WAY too cold and I couldn't figure out how to adjust it, and it froze all of my food! And housekeeping tries to come and clean WAY too early! I had my do-not-disturb on the door and they still knocked at 8am wanting access to the room. Otherwise it is a nice place to stay for a reasonable price. And it's as close as you can stay to Cantler's Riverside Inn - yum!

This Navy Lodge offers an excellent, quite location.

The value is incomparable because when I stayed here their renovation was obviously much better compared to the previous state.

My room was clean and pristine. I slept just fine. For the money, this is the BEST place to stay.

To break up a trip headed south we stayed at the Navy Lodge Annapolis. The setting is great and the room was very quiet which is high on our list of requirements. The room did look "tired" but the staff indicated that a renovation will be undertaken in the near future. We look forward to staying there after the renovation is complete. If you have commissary and exchange privileges they are located right across the street. They close at 1900 on a week night.

Room Tip: Check with the Lodge to see when renovations are due to take place.

We stayed at the Navy Lodge and had a very enjoyable stay. Being a military installation there were no frills, however the room was clean and very quiet. The staff was very friendly and helpful with directions from sightseeing venues to good places to eat. We were very happy with the price and the entire stay.
