“A place Marylander's should be proud of”
Reviewed April 26, 2013 via mobile

This building is really grand. I live 25 minutes from Harrisburg and our capital is nice but I like Maryland's better. The interior is beautiful, I really liked looking in the house and senate chambers. The self guided tour is free and security is friendly to people. When in this great city take 10 minutes and go inside the capital, it is free and beautiful.

“Good place to visit”
Reviewed April 21, 2013

The state house is a place full of history. Self guided tours through the first floor include the two house chambers and the restored old house of delegates. The are restoring the old Senate chamber. Also, a couple of rooms deal with historical aspects of Annapolis. Centrally located.

“Nice but predictable”
Reviewed April 9, 2013

Not much to see - two of the presentation rooms were really dark. Not real sure of which door to enter to see and hear the court and it was quite intimidating so we ended up skipping that part.

“The U.S.'s oldest state house”
Reviewed April 8, 2013

A must see for history buffs. This imposing building has been serving as the Capitol of Maryland since the 18th century. It is beautiful inside and out, and the carefuly executed restoration is nearly complete. Come in out of the heat and cold and visit the place where George Washington resigned his commission as head of the Continental forces. As you leave take in the pretty views of Maryland's the capital city.

“Interesting historical building”
Reviewed April 1, 2013

It only takes a short time to tour the public areas of the State House so try to carve out a little time to visit. You'll find the building beautiful and you will learn some new facts about the early days of our nation.
