“In 20 years of visits, this is one of the best”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

For twenty-plus years, I’ve lived in California, but visited my mother often in Annapolis. This is among the very best restaurant experiences I’ve had here.

Three of us had a fairly wide range of food, all of which was four out of five stars (by my reduced scale for Maryland - we are not in France here, or Italy, or even California). Starter salads were very good. Veal, lobster ravioli, and chicken with pancetta were all declared very tasty, despite too much pepper. The food is equivalent to the best restaurants along Severn Avenue.

We found the ambience perfect for talking, despite other reviews here to the contrary. Lighting was just right for being able to see what you're doing (Charthouse is too dark) and not too bright.

Service was average for Annapolis. It was slow to start (but so what?), pretty good after that, although a second glass of wine took far too long to arrive (and was comp'ed by the restaurant, without my saying anything).

This is an easy place to recommend if you want a pleasant, even romantic evening, in an area I more generally associate with pubs (which I also enjoy).

“Better food at Piccolo Roma”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Had a snippy waitress. When the food came it was just ok. It reminded me of the food served at one of the chain Italian restaurants. Wine list was just ok and the server knew very little about wines. When we got the bill we were pretty surprised how expensive it was. We frequent Piccolo Roma and feel if you want traditional good Italian food at resonable prices with a sophisticated atmosphere that is the place to go.

“Great Food, But a Little Noisy”
Reviewed June 1, 2013

This is one of our favorite places to eat in Annapolis, but it could use some noise buffers. Don't expect to carry on a conversation, but the food is so great, you'll probably be using your mouth to chew anyway.

“Best night of the trip”
Reviewed May 7, 2013

On a recent business trip to the Baltimore / Annapolis area, we ate at many seafood restaurants, as to be expected. They were also good, but, we went to Carpaccio's on our last night there. Group of around 12. The best food, service, atmosphere!!! I would love to go back when in the area. A+++++ in my book.

“Nice food at a reasonable price.”
Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

Parking is the only downer. You drive into a garage underneath the restaurant. Ok, there are advantages to that too! The personal size pizzas are large at $11-15 dollars. Six nice size pieces. Plenty to split especially if you have a starter. Nice pastas and they have gluten free pastas, as well as plenty of GF options. Atmosphere is very nice for a larger restaurant. They take reservations if you are there on a busy USNA weekend.
