“Great Host, Great Food ,Great Politics!”

Just stayed in the cutest Bed and Breakfast in Annapolis while attending a funeral at Arlington. The Innkeeper Mickie couldn't have been more helpful. She waited up to make sure I was safely in a parking space and helped to get me to the inn when I was lost. The rooms contain pictures and signatures from Washington politicians on both sides of the aisle. Just fascinating to see all the famous faces that Mickie and Don have met through their careers. The breakfasts were warm and wonderful. Mickie was especially helpful to my son who is handicapped. By the way the first floor is accessible. If you are ever in Annapolis you have to stay here.

My boyfriend and I stayed one night at the Chez Amis in downtown Annapolis this past weekend. It was awesome! First of all, they gave us a sticker so parking was only $4 for 24 hours in a nearby lot. Once we got in, we saw that our room was well decorated (in a "judicial" theme) clean and private. They have coffee makers, toiletries, homemade cookies, a big bowl of M&M's, and a TV w/ DVD player in the room, very nice touches for a small place. The bed was firm and comfortable. Because of a small mix-up with the reservation, they upgraded our room for no extra cost AND baked us a chocolate cake which was waiting for us in the room! (IT WAS GOOD) Unbelievably, the hosts have a pantry full of beer, soda, wine and snacks and tell the guests to "help themselves" - which we did! They also offered a big selection of VHS and DVDs for guests to watch. Our hosts were away on vacation while we were there, but the St. John's college student there was very professional, warm and courteous. She made us a delicious breakfast and didn't rush us at all to check out. We met a really interesting and friendly couple from Mississippi and talked for hours with them in the dining area, and it felt like our own home. Ask for the B&B's speciality "My Blue Heaven" recipe ( a rich, crunchy granola and fruit concoction) and make it for your family back home! I would highly recommend this bed and breakfast to anyone! And I know the next time we're in Annapolis, we'll be back at Chez Amis! Thank you!!

My husband and I stayed here for a night to celebrate our anniversary. We stayed in the Capitol Room which was quite spacious, had a king size bed, nice big TV and DVD player and private bathroom. we were aware of the previous posters comments about this room's walls being filled with Republicans photos but we were pleasantly surprised to find an equal democratic representation.

The innkeepers, Mickie and Don, were very sweet and incredibly accommodating. They had a chilled bottle of champagne waiting for us and even told us where they were going to dinner in case we needed to reach them for anything. Breakfast was amazing! Mickie is a great cook!

We will stay here again should we find ourselves in Annapolis for a night. This was southern hospitality at its best. I would certainly recommend it to anyone.

Chez Amis is an average B&B. There is nothing to make it stand out as either particularly good or particularly bad. Be forewarned, however, that if you hoped to forget about the current occupant of the White House and the members of his party, you should not book the Capitol View Room. Almost every inch of wall space is covered with contemporary political pictures of the President, Vice President and mostly Republican members of Congress. It was hard for me to sleep with George Bush and Dick Cheney staring down on me.

An unassuming presence, but delightful hostess. And the cooks! Our breakfasts were flavorful, had great variety, and with the friendliest service. One rainy day we had 6 of us in the LR to sit & chat; it was cozy and warm. Highly recommended.

We stayed in the Carriage House which is directly opposite Chez Amis and owned by the same friendly couple. The Carriage House is self catering and has 2 bedrooms (1 en suite), a dining room/kitchen, bathroom, utility room and rear patio area with small garden table and chairs. It is compact but charming and tastefully furnished. It is only about 100 metres from the bustling harbour area and the US Naval Academy and located on a quiet street in the quaint historic district of Annapolis. Parking is included in the lock upbeneath the house. On a 2 week tour of Eastern USA this was easily the best place we stayed. We all want to retire to this beautiful little waterfront town.
