Description: We're a big, happy family here at MoonShadow and we invite you to be a part of it... our eclectic, artsy-comfortable style and of course the mismatched place settings and vintage salt & pepper shakers we consider old friends. Along with a commitment to keeping the surroundings real, we're dedicated to serving natural, fresh food that's free of preservatives and additives, and we always strive to use locally sourced and sustainable products when creating our meals. Our philosophy is “ Why not return to the way food used to be... prior to packaging, antibiotics, and harmful chemicals? Why not eat fresh, real food that's not only healthy but tastes delicious as well... why not?”

Super good food presented artistically by friendly staff. No Cover music events. Interesting decor. Lunch, dinner and Sunday breakfast buffets.

Thank Vicki C

Since my girlfriend and I attend college in nearby Frostburg, we thought we would give this place a try. My question is, why haven't we tried this place sooner? We decided to try this place since the locals rave about it and the neat entertainment they have. We went on 5/9/14 and on that particular night Blackwater Mojo was performing, which was a good husband and wife country-rock style music group. We were seated very close to the band which turned out to be the best seats in the house. We decided to eat light so mainly stuck with salads and appetizers. For salads, we had the small wedge salad and small bleu moon caesar salad. Both were delicious! The bleu moon caesar had Fire Fly Farm's signature goat cheese on it, which is delicious in itself. The only complaint would be the VERY small plates. I could hardly cut up the wedge salad without the lettuce and such falling off the plate, but that is an easy fix for them. For appetizers, we had the spinach & gouda dip, along with the cauliflower "wings". The they both were very good. Our favorite was the spinach & gouda dip. The cauliflower wings very a good idea, and healthy too. Only complaint would be the 8 dollars for the cauliflower, seems a little much for cauliflower with wing sauce. For dessert, we had the crème brûlée, and it was outstanding! It had nice fresh strawberries and blueberries on top, which was a nice healthy treat. For beverages, I had two good draft beers (half price mon-fri until 7). Overall, this place is exactly what this area needs! It is so much fun with good food and entertainment. One nice thing I especially enjoy about this restaurant is their commitment to using local products. Much of the food and beer is purchased from local farmers. It is nice to support local businesses! I would highly recommend this place if you are in the area, you won't be disappointed.

I live in the area and have eaten everywhere. This is by far the best place to eat. It is worth the short drive from Deep Creek. All the food is local and organic. They recycle everything possible and also compost everything they can and provide it to local farmers. The Beer selection is great. The place has a great atmosphere. I ate there on 2/15 and went back again on 2/18. I cannot say enough about how happy we are that we found this place.

We are a little bias, but this is our favorite cafe/bar/restaurant in Garrett County. Do not miss any of the music events! MORE SPINACH & GOUDA PLEASE!

While we agree with other reviewers that a new restaurant is good for the area, this cafe's attempt at eclectic decor fell flat and the menu was very limited (like an all-day lunch menu). We ordered a late lunch with great expectations given the proximity to Firefly Farms and several of its cheeses on the menu. The waiter was chattily attentive, providing some background on the restaurant, the owner's vision, relationships with local providers and farmers (great!), and a commonly owned new bakery up the street expected to provide good breads to the restaurant that will be welcomed in the area if the expectations are realized. We would love places like this to become more abundant in the area and for the quality and selections of dishes to increase. Unfortunately, MoonShadow did not convince us that our hope is realistic, but we keep hoping and will try it again.
