Travel to Aberdeen approximately two times per year, and stayed at some of the finest hotels if you want to rate them by how expensive they are. This trip, stayed at the Travelodge in Aberdeen. Was delightfully surprised. The staff is some of the most pleasant staff I have run across. The manager Mansab made us feel welcome. The evening clerk Abdul, was one of the most delightful I have deal with. Tomaz the night clerk was very pleasant. When a light burnt out or the air wasn't working the maintenance man Chuck was right on the scene to fix it. The maids ( Beverly, Patricia, and Rachel) would keep the rooms clean. So the bottom line is that after spending 4 months here I was able to experience a wonderful stay without breaking the bank. Don't let the bad reviews scare you away. I am a seasoned traveler and this hotel will be the top on my list when I return.

We booked this hotel & then read reviews. Not good. We went through Priceline and they won't let you cancel once you book. We were stuck or lose the money.
Reviews really scared us so we went prepared with cleaner & disinfectant & camera for documentation to the credit card co. The room was clean. We asked for and got non-smoking. Some open rooms did have a musty odor as we passed by. The parking lot was full, so many others stayed there as well. The room appeared to have been renovated within the last 2 or 3 years. Bathroom was clean, towels & shower curtain as well as the facilities and floor. Mattresses were stiff and for me a little hard to sleep on. I like memory foam. Room had a refrigerator & microwave & coffee maker along with a TV and radio. Carpet was navy with maroon square pattern. If it was spotless it would still look questionable. Bad color. I didn't see any stains and I looked. The upholstered chairs in the room were stained and univiting. Air conditioning was nice and cold. We needed a place to stop for the night or maybe 2 if need be. I would not plan a lengthy stay at this type of hotel. We expected the worst but did not get it.

Looked at the room, went back to front desk, got our money back and left a.s.a.p.! Need I say more?

We stayed one night, the place is horrible, is falling apart, when we arrived the bed table was dirty with some kind of sticky liquid. The bed makes funny noisses, the carpet is dirty. You could heard the people in the hallway and in other rooms all night. This is the worst part, because is a danderous place, we saw pimps, gangsters, hookers, drug users, etc. The are many options around where you could get the same rate with a coupon in a newer and safer place.

We went to Aberdeen, MD for the Cal Ripken World Series in Aug 09. I found the Travel Lodge on-line. Yes...at the time the hotel had the best rate and some "nice" pictures of the hotel & rooms. What wasn't said was what we found when we arrived and after pre-paying for the hotel. In a nut shell....there is mold in the showers, pubic hairs on the toilet and the bathroom floor, our room was cleaned two times out of nine days, our key cards for the doors worked four of the nine days, the sheets were never changed, the AC worked off & on thru out the week and at night time, plan on bringing ear plugs b/c there are people running up & down the hall way into the mid morning. The best part of it all...we were told by the local people that work at Mars (the local grocery store) that we should not go on the first floor b/c of all of the "activity" that goes on by the prostitutes.

Yes...I did ask for my money back from the owner. No luck. The joke was on me. I learned my lesson.

Stay away, there are bedbugs here. We had to check out at midnight and try to find another motel.

Don't be fooled by the 2004 and 2005 reward plaques hanging behind the front desk at this property. The room was damp and had a musty odor and the wallpaper was bubbled. The air conditioner was very noisy, but did serve to drown out the loud music of nearby rooms. The bathroom fan sounded like a helocopter about to take off, and the lamp above the basin was burned out. Television worked, and there was wireless internet . . . but these virtures were outweighed by the frowsy atmosphere, and the noise of other guests. We did not visit the "lounge" that was located in the former foodservice area, but it appeared to be quite a boisterous place.
