“A great deal with a great restaurant”
Reviewed April 22, 2013

You couldn't beat the place for value and even better - after a long day's drive the restaurant "Grumpy's" was within the complex - offering 10% off to guests of the motel. It isn't the Ritz...but personnel were pleasant and helpful. Refrigerator was a nice bonus, too. Don't expect too much for breakfast...but like I said, it is inexpensive. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was clean.

I have been going to this motel for years. The rooms are large the staff helpful. The motel is not new but the management is continually updating the place and the price is very reasonable.
It has a restaurant and is close to stores other restaurants and to a shopping centers..

Room Tip: ask for fridge and microwave if not in the room

Great price, clean room, quiet. Close to a Dollar General in the event you forgot anything or wanted snacks. Minor concern upon arrival was a group of people hanging out behind the building along the back of the parking lot.

We checked in there recently on the way to the South. I cannot believe how dirty our room was. The tables and chairs were dusty and I lifted the bed skirt and obviously it was not vacuum (I have the video to prove it) from whenever the last customer checked out. And lots of hair (from the previous customer) in the bathroom. And the shower curtain has mold.
TO make matters worse, my husband cannot open his eye when he woke up. He got PINK EYE from whoever stayed there.
When I gave the card back to the desk, whoever was there did not even say a word or acknowledge my presence. WORST Customer service EVER.

Room Tip: Check out the room to be assigned first before signing up.

We selected this hotel from the Priceline site. Photos looked good and price was right for our one night stay our first night out traveling south to FL. The hallways were filthy with bits of debris on the floor. The excuse was they were painting on the floor above. What - no vacuum. After dropping our bags we ate dinner at the pretty seedy looking restaurant attached. When we returned to the room, we noticed that the bed had never been made from the prior occupant. We called the desk and they sent up a maintenance man with the wrong size sheets. We asked for another room and got one only marginally better across the hall. In the a.m. we feared eating the free breakfast as we had no idea how long it had been sitting there. The desk clerk said we'd have to call Priceline for a refund. Priceline was very nice, but only got us half our money back. Awful place. I'd avoid it completely.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel!

My boyfriend and I arrived at about 1am on our way from NY to FL just needing a place to stay for the night. We had a coupon for a room for $70 and when we gave it to him he said "we have no rooms for that deal, you can have a room only for $80." So we a greed and with taxes and what not is was $95. If it hadn't been 1am we would have turned around right there because upon walking in you can certainly tell it's not worth that much. We couldn't get the door open so we had to ask the guy at the desk and he came up and body slammed it open, it seemed to work fine after that. The room obviously hadn't been opened in a while, you could tell by the stench of mildew and, we were later to discover, mold. We immediately went to bed and the real horrors came in the morning. We woke up to a cockroach on the bed and more in the drawer. Then found mold in the bathroom. We gathered our things and headed down to check out and inform them of their roach infestation, and I cannot believe the response we got. He looked right at us with not a bit of surprise on his face and said "yeah" to witch I said "so you know about it then?" and he responded by simply saying "every hotel and restaurant here has roaches, it's a tropical climet." That is the most ridiculous thing I have ever heard. I live in FL, this is in MD!! I have never seen roaches in our condo or any hotel or restaurant I have been in, and if there was pest control would take of it immediately!!

Room Tip: no such thing as a good room in this place

As my title indicates, this is a poorly kept property. There were liquor bottles on the ground at the entrance to the lobby, cigarette butts in the stairwells, the hall carpets were visibly dirty, and the other tenants had strewn towels and bed lines outside of their doors in the hallway. The room itself was fairly clean. Although, when I booked the room, it was stated that it came with a microwave and refrigerator. There was no microwave and the refrigerator didn't work. The shower was clean but, no wash clothes in the bathroom. The bed was clean and comfortable. It appears that this is mainly used to house tenants on a weekly or monthly basis, and the upkeep of the property suffers because of that.

Room Tip: Stay here if you don't mind sharing the accommodation with the locals.
