We rented a room at the Parc England when we were forced to evacuate for a major hurricane. We arrived at 2:30 AM. We were welcomed with open arms--something we needed.
The hotel is beautifully decorated. The beds are extremely comfortable, and the bathrooms are spacious. The pool is a little small, but my teenaged children swam in it and enjoyed it. There are several places around the hotel where one can just sit and read a book or enjoy the company of others. There is a Cracker Barrel and McDonald's within a couple of miles from the hotel.
We were spared the wrath of the hurricane, but our stay at the Parc England was not wasted. The people of Alexandria were hospitable. We visited a couple of beautiful historical churches. I am hoping to go again under different circumstances.

This is a world class hotel in the middle of rural Louisiana. The matresses and bed linens are the most comfortable I have ever slept on. Each room has access to a wrap around patio through french doors.
The Bistro restaurant is as good as anything in New Orleans.
If you have the opportunity to spend an evening in Alexandria, don't miss the Parc England! In fact the hotel is worth the trip.

What a great place in the middle of nowhere. This is a five star property without the spa. Great beds! The restaurant next door is fantastic.

Located in Central Louisiana is a new boutique hotel that is charming, relaxing, elegant yet not stuffy, and very affordable compared to what a venue like this would cost elsewhere. Alexandria is the site of a formerly thriving England Air Force Base that is now a private airpark. The Parc England is indicative of the restoration and improvement being made following the base's closure in the 1990s. I should know, our family was stationed there in the 1960s and I recently went back to have a look at our old home and area. It's better than I remember it, thanks to the Parc England, a new golf course across the street called OakWing Golf Club, which is part of the Louisiana Audubon Golf Trail, and the overall cleanliness and friendly environs. I recommend unequivocally the Parc England and its exquisite fine dining restaurant - Bistro on the Bayou - which serves a scrumptious array of outstanding, gourmet food.

The Parc England is a small but very classy hotel like nothing else in the area. It opened in a new building in August 2003. The rooms are large and beautifully decorated. The staff provides excellent service with a smile. The Bistro on the Bayou Restuarant is next door and ranks the finest restuarants in New Orleans or anywhere.
