As I work close by and have made several trips to the park, would highly recommend a stop over as you can RV, tent or try a cabin it would be worth the stay. We have seen all the wildlife and if your interested in birding then this is the place!! Nice road system and the layout of buildings etc are nice. They even have a water park for the kids. Good stuff.

We have camped at this park on 2 occasions. We enjoyed most of our time there. Few draw backs. Too dusty, splash pad to crowed with non campers. Guest with large speakers playing music at the splash pad. When i addressed it with the ranger his response was "everybody is trying to have fun". Well we were also trying to have fun without listening to a music genre that we would not have chosen. The nature center is a joke. The first time we went they were having an event and we could not enter. The next time we went for a scheduled activity we were told there was nobody else that showed up sooo. He was low energy and did not even offer to show the kids around. We walked out them he offered. Lol. Too late. Anyway, not sure if we are gonna go back. Def not this summer because i know the splash pad will be to full of non campers. Okay for the things we liked; nice grill, nice trails, and the kids had a good time fishing so we made some good memories.

Nice, well-maintained park with campgrounds, hiking trails and a nifty water park for kids. Good birding, and some interesting flora too.

We spent a week here back in early April. they are remodeling the park so only half of it is open. The laundry facility is free. There are ponds for fishing and a new water play area for kids that should be opening soon. We met some wonderful people and enjoyed touring the small towns in the area.

Great place to spend a few days recharging. The park is out-of-the-way and very peaceful, a great place to relax after spending time exploring Cajun Country in the city and towns in the heart of Acadiana.
