“The right place for jazz lovers”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 15, 2014

Just inaugurated in the old part of the city, a cozy place where you can enjoy jazz players live (professionals and students). You can even have a conversation with famous pianist/owner Danilo Perez, if in town.

“The rebirth of cool!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2014

Danilo's Jazz Club, adjacent to the tony American Trade Hotel, on the Plaza Herrera in Panama City's Casco Viejo has recently opened to much fanfare. Multiple Grammy award winner, Danilo Perez, also famed for founding and organizing the Panama Jazz Fest (11 years running) and the Danilo Perez Foundation (for young musicians' education), has opened a small, intimate venue to showcase a rich cross section of jazz artists from Panama and other parts. Housed in an old colonial building, the space is small, cozy, and with great acoustics. The only throwback is a structural support column in front of the stage the divides the view in half, but after all, we come to listen. As the Casco Viejo is enjoying an incredible renaissance, this is a natural and welcome addition to the hipster scene and local nightlife. Definitely put this on your "to do" list when you visit Panama.
