We loved this place as we didn't have much planned and enjoyed relaxing by the rooftop pool quite a bit. It's in the Costa Del Este which is a nice enclave closer to the airport and away from most of the noises and smells of downtown, but easy to get to. We had a beautiful room on the 17th floor and the hotel overall was very clean and modern. They have a good chef and a good menu which we really enjoyed. It's an interesting neighbourhood, filled with expensive condos and lots of good places to eat, but not much nightlife. The only ways to visit the city and area is by car and I don't recommend driving, which leaves you with Uber, taxis or the hotel's car service. The hotel service is safest and most comfortable as we were in a few sketchy cabs during our time, almost gagged from exhaust fumes in one cab we took. Hotel staff were all very pleasant and helpful and all spoke good English (much better than my Spanish). Check-in and check-out were very smooth with no hassles at all. Our room was a good size, nice bed, kept well cleaned, with everything we needed. My only suggestion is that they invest in some better coffee as the brewed stuff is only so-so and a double espresso costs about 6 dollars..
Also, note that there are no beaches anywhere in Panama City despite the miles of coastline- so you'll need to pay for a ride to the Pacific beaches (west of the canal) or Caribbean beaches to the north, both a couple of hours away.
