“Service sucked last night.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 14, 2013

I've walked past this place dozens of times since it's been open but never tried it, never seen anyone in there. To be honest I surprised it is still open because of the lack of traffic I've seen. Last week I was walking by and saw two guys leaving and asked how it was, they both said great.
Talked the wife into going last night and I must admit the pizza was wonderful but the lady working was a real looser. I asked her where she is from and she says a town by Milan where Leggero1 is located. Older woman in her 40's maybe 50's was really doing us a favor by being there. No hello, good bye, thank you, how is everything, would you like something else, never a smile. It wasn't the typical bad Panama service we are used to, she was never hiding, texting, too busy talking to another employees. It was like she hated being here.
One other thing is more of a "trattoria" than a "restorante".

“The Best for Last”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 11, 2013

Had seen this little spot, but not gone in. After a very disappointing experience at an Asian restaurant nearby, we reclaimed the evening, the last in town for a friend, by going here. Wonderful choice! Had pizza with a thin, crispy crust. One size, all large for $7 to $12 depending on toppings. Gnocchi was divine...light little pillows with a delicate four cheese sauce that wanted for nothing. Christina brought warm bread, olive oil and balsamic, red pepper flakes and oregano flakes. The house wine ($5 for 1/2 liter)-maybe it was $5.50-was perfect. The dinner ended with a tiramisu so delicate it fairly floated to our mouths! Will return ASAP.

“It's All About The Food”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed October 13, 2013

Leggero2 may not win any awards for interior design, but they should for delicious Italian food at great prices.
The decor is simple and in some areas, almost spartan...not all the lights match.
But if you are looking for a family run Italian resto that offers fresh ingredients prepared with a zest for enjoying food, give Leggero2 a try.
My wife and I both had pasta with bolognese sauce, and it was made with veal instead of the usual hamburger mix common to many places these days. Delicately flavoured, the portions are generous without being oversized. All the pastas are made on premises.
"Momma" is the server, and she quickly sets you at ease with her natural warmth. She doesn't speak English, but the menu is in both languages, and we had no problems at all communicating what we wanted.
The house wine is good and at $5.00 a 1/2 litre, a real bargain.
We suspected that this place was as much for locals as visitors, and had that buzz of families having dinner together.
After dinner, Momma was kind enough to serve us tiramisu. We hadn't asked for it, but there was obvious pride when she indicated that it was home made...pride well placed, because it was one of the best we had ever tasted. To top it off, it wasn't on our bill!

“Friendly service great price”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 7, 2013

In Panama City for 6 days and ate here 3 times. Had pizza and rissotto, the risotto was best I ever had. Pizza made by an Italian always seems to be great. The Italian owner was very nice, and the reataurant very comfortable.A++
