“A trip into the city”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

I enjoyed shopping with all the native arts and crafts! There was SO much to look at! I am glad that we were in a large group though because it was kind of a scary area, The police station was very close by though so that was somewhat comforting.

“gentrification at its finest”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

Casco Viejo is charming in its own crumbling ways with essences of New Orleans, Cartagena and Havana all mixed in. It was fascinating to see million dollar homes literally right next door to what appeared to be dilapidated ones in state of disrepair. Never once did we not feel save as we wandered the narrow streets in the late evenings. Since all the government building are located in CV there is always a heavy police presence but even without them it felt safe to us. Some of the city.so best restaurants are located there so it makes it a perfect place to set up base if you are in PC for a few days. We loved it and when back will again stay in Casco Viejo. Enjoy!

“Step back in time”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2014

Restoration has only been under way for a few years, but already Casco Antiguo is taking on the mantle of a world-class attraction, with parts dating back to 1673. A blend of architectural styles sensitively restored and now boasting everything from squats to Government departments and the Presidential Palace. There are bars, clubs, restaurants, chafes and souvenir stalls.
Masses of atmosphere and with detailed maps and information readily available a must, but be a prepared to spend at least half a day. We loved it and have been back three times for more.

“The place to be in Panama City”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 4, 2014

We stayed in Casco Viejo when in Panama City, and I'm so glad we did. It has so much character and is small enough that you can feel you know it intimately. Yet still there are so many great things to do and places to eat there, and it's all so pretty!

“casco Viejo-The old city Panama City”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014

Casco Viejo Panama City
It’s the old part of Panama City. After we visited the Panama Canal the driver took us to . see how the real Panama City was before the big development
The old houses are being restored, but di conserves them as in the past.
There are very interesting places that we recommend. First is Plaza francia with all the
artisans, mostly women form different tribes.
Some of the site that we can recommend are:
• El Palacio de las Garzas, is the governmental office and residence of the President of Panama
• Palacio Municipal, which dates from the beginning of the 20th century.
• Panama Canal Museum- It’s a MUST see
• Plaza de Francia
• National Theatre of Panama

There are also nice churches there but we were short on time.
The restaurants are not bad and have different prices.
